These pages are a tribute to Eleanor Hewitt of Ringwood Manor, New Jersey in recognition of her achievements during life and her tenacious haunting of Ringwood Manor after death.
Actually, it's mostly about the tenacious haunting part. I love a ghost story, and if you ended up here, chances are that you do, too. However, it's also quite true that Eleanor Hewitt was in many ways a Remarkable Woman and ahead of her time.
I love ghost stories, both "true" and fictional, but meeting actual ghosts I can pretty much do without. Luckily for me, it was my sister Gertrude who undertook meeting Ms. Nellie, and I all had to do was put up this website.
