Exhibit Hall 4 - Japanese-American Soldiers

"I'd volunteer if I could serve like any other American," one boy said, while another favored the army plan. "It's a good way to prove our loyalty once and for all," he said. "I'll volunteer."

"This country has made a terrible mistake, interning its citizens without even a fair trial. But now it is asking for help; and there isn't time to waste. Yes, I think if I had to choose, I would go, in spite of everything. I would have to make that decision."

"When you do what you know is right," Father explained, "you find a dignity in yourself that makes you a happy person."
