Name Pieces from Mrs. Desler's Class

 DerriDerrDerrickck

I really like my name being Derrick. In class, I looked at some of the baby books and I found "Derek." Well, that's okay because Derrick means another form of Derek. Anyway, Derek means-(Old German) 'Ruler of the people." My mom, Dr. Luz Guerrero, named me Derrick because she wanted to give me a unique name and it means "Great Warrior."

Sometimes I wanted to change my name to Derek, then I learned that my name was special and my mom gave me this special name. If I had my own children I would name them Iris and André. I would name the girl Iris because it means "the rainbow' and if it was a boy I would name him Andre because it means "strong and manly."

  Elaine is my name!

My full name is Elaine Dawn Christenson. Elaine means, " Lilly Maiden of
Astoroth." Dawn means," Daybreak." My middle name is my mom's first name and my first name is my grandmother's middle name. I truly cherish my name.

I have five nicknames. My nicknames are Baby, Twister, Princess, Babes, and Elainer Bainer. I have the nickname Twister because my best friend Danielle and I both have best friends nicknames. Hers is Tornado because we both thought it fitted her well. I have the nicknames Elainer Bainer and Babes because my brother just started calling me those names one day. Also, I have the name Baby because I am the youngest of the family. Last but not least, I have the nickname Princess because my parents wanted me to fell important to the family. I love my nicknames.

If I could change my name, I wouldn't. I wouldn't because I love it. My name comes from my dad's side of the family and lots of my ancestors had my name. I love my name.

Stephen

My name is very special to me. My name is from my parents. I looked through the baby books in my classroom and I found my name. My name means "Crowned One" and it is in Welsh language. My mom chose this name for me because my Dad's name started with the letter "S" so she named me "Stephen". My nick is "Steph" and it comes from my full name "Stephen". I would never want it to change my name because it is special to me and it reminds me of my parents. My mom chose that name for me and the letter "S" in my name reminds me of my Dad.

 Alisa

Alisa, that's my name, okay actually my real name is Alisa Serene Villanueva. My name means "GREAT HAPPINESS " in Hebrew; my mother gave my name to me because she had a best friend named Alisa too, and she loved the name so, when I was born my mother and father decided to name Alisa.

I think that I would change my name because when I was very little kids used to make fun of my name and call me Alisa Peisa and silly names like that. If I could change my name it would probably be either Michelle or Nicole because I have always liked those names and people can actually say your name right.

But over all I guess I like my name because it does fit me pretty well. But also on the other hand I don't really like my name either because nobody can pronounce it right either. I guess overall I do like my name more than I don't like.

I really don't have a nickname but sometimes my parents or my neighbor's mom calls me "Princess;" other than that I really don't have a nickname. M y name is very special to me because I was named after a wonderful person and most of all it's my mom's best friend's name and it's a very beautiful name and I am very proud of having that name.

Romeo

Romeo is the perfect name to have. First of all it is popular and if any one has heard of my name it's probably because it comes from one of Shakespeare's plays, "Romeo and Juliet." Second of all my name is not Juliet, but it is Romeo. The name Romeo is an Italian name. You are probably wondering why my name is Italian when I'm Vietnamese. Well my dad named me Romeo because he just named me it and everyone has to have a name, right? I got the name Romeo because I needed a name for school. But my parents call me Vinh at home. My brothers and sisters call me Romeo at home because there use to saying my name I use at school. My parents call me Vinh because they don't really know how to speak English fluently. The name Romeo means Pilgrim to Rome. This Magnificent name, Romeo is perfect and I like it just the way it is.

Jennifer

Have you ever wondered what is in a name? I have thought about it. Many people fit in their name as they grow up. Sometimes people don't like their name so they change it, but I never will change my name. It is very special to me because of the following. I got my name from an actress named Maureen McCormick who played the part of Marcia Brady on the Brady Bunch. Then my mom chose from a list of names and named me Jennifer Maureen Acasio. My name doesn't come from anyone in my family but that's fine with me because I like being different. My nicknames come from my real name so I am also known as Jenny or Jen, which I don't mind being called. My name means that I'm "fair and white ,"so when I say people fit in their names as they grow, I try to fit mine. My name comes from the Welsh language. Sometimes I don't like my name because it sounds so unusual. When that happens, I want my name to be Serena . It is a beautiful name to me. Many people have the name Jennifer, but I think only one person in the world would really fit the name Jennifer Maureen Acasio, me.

Michael

I know what you're thinking; you're wondering how I got my name. Well it all started when I wasn't even born and my parents wanted to name me Nick. Sadly, my cousin took it before I was born. So my parents thought and thought and thought. Suddenly it hit them like a big giant brick, maybe I should be named Michael Alexander Zenti. I mean they really like it and it sounds good. So they did decide to name me Michael Alexander Zenti.

Michael is English and means "Who is like God." I got my name because my parents just liked it. I wouldn't really like to change my name because it starts with a M as well as my parents and brother. My mom's name is Merrilee, my dad's name is Mark, and my brother's name is Miles. If I had to, I would change my name to Miguelle because it also starts with a M.

Steven

As one of the millions of people who are named Steven, I really wanted to know what my name means, and what language it comes from. The name "Steven" comes from the word "Stephen." Stephen is a Greek word for "a crown." I really like the name Steven, but Steven is not my real name. My real name is Xiaolong which means "little dragon." (Which sounds really dumb is English.) Steven is more like a school or friend's name, at home, my family calls my real name. I really like both of my names because I'm part of two cultures. I'm Chinese and a little of American culture.

Mark

When I grow up and have a son, I will name him Mark, after me. My name means "Mighty Warrior" or "God of War" and I don't think that's what I am. Almost everybody I know calls me something other than Mark. My friends call me "Marco Polo" and my dad calls me "Marco. I don't want to change my name because I don't know what I would change it to. My parents gave me my name because they had a good friend named Mark. Also, they just liked it. I guess I do too.

Sarah

On your marks, get set, go! Are you ready for some knowledge on my name? My name, Sarah, is Hebrew and means "little princess." My mom chose that name because when she was little, she read the book A Little Princess and liked the name ever since. My middle name, Kaitlyn, is the Irish form of the name Kathleen. Kathleen and Kate are very popular names in my mom's family. Lyn and Lynn are popular names in my dad's family. Add them together and you get Kaitlyn, my middle name.

My first nickname, Boo, is a short form of Boobie Doo! My parents have no idea what this means, but the name just stuck to me like glue. Next comes Chicken Little because I used to wave my arms around when I walked. My Godmother gave me this name. Last is Sarita Barita. I got that name when I was eating a burrito. My dad called me Sarita and my brother, Matthew, called me Barita (Sarah eat a burrito) and it all began. Now my brother calls me Sarita Barita and I call him Mataito Burrito.

I will not change my name. I am proud of it. My parents named me Sarah Kaitlyn, it has been like that for 10 years and it is going to stay that way. My name is only going to change when I get married, but, only my last name will change. The winner of the name race is Sarah Kaitlyn!

Remar

I am satisfied that my name is Remar. My name is a combination of my mother and father's name. My father's name is Rick. It comes from Germany and means a strong ruler. My mother's name is Margarita and it's Greek for pearl. My grandmother was the person who decided to combine my mother's name and my father's name. They later changed the "I" to an "E". My nickname is Baby and I received it because my mom decided that I was the last child they were going to have. I never wanted to change my name because my name is unique and different.
If I have a son, his name would be Reginald or Reggie for short. I would name him that because my name, my brother's name, and my dad's name start with a "R". If I have a daughter I would name her Mya because my mother's name starts with an "M" also.
I like my name and I would never want to change my name because it is special to me and it is unique.

Courtney

My name is Courtney, and I am proud of it. I received my name from my mother, not for any special reason. My name is Old English. It means "from the court." I really like my name because it is not very popular, and I like to have my name all to myself. Once I had wanted to change my name to Sabrina, but now I know it is not worth it because Courtney is a very beautiful name.

Nguyen

Nguyen is the perfect name for me. My name is Vietnamese and it means "perfect." Both of my parents wanted to name me Nguyen. My dad could have chosen a different name, but he didn't. I never had a nickname. I wanted to change my name when I was younger but now I don't because there are too many names and I want to keep my name. There wouldn't be a better name.

Hudson

The name Hudson came from the name Richard. You might hear other places like bays or rivers but usually not a name for a person's first name. You can easily spell Hudson by sounding it out. Hudson is an uncommon name.

My parents got the name Hudson from a TV show and my middle name from my uncle Don. I have one nickname, Hudd, which my friends call me. I used to have another nickname in fourth grade and that was Hudinator. My teacher called me that. I like my name because it fits my personality. Hudson is neat name.

Steven D.

My name is Steven D. and I like it. The language is English/Greek. My name means a "crowned one." My parents picked this name because they thought it would fit me and it would be a strong name for a boy. My parents were going to name after my dad, Alexander. But they didn't because a lot of Jr.'s died so the had a little fear. I don't blame them but I sort of like that name but I do not want to die!

My nicknames go along with my name so you can guess easily. My nicknames are Steve and Stevie. I am Steven and I like my name and I would never change it.

My name, Adeline, is important to me. Adeline means I am noble and kind of spirit. My grandpa gave me the name because the pronunciation sounded like my Chinese name. "Adeline" translated to Chinese is

I was given the nickname "ah mue" because I didn't get my name until I was three months old. "Ah mue" means the little sister of a big brother or sister. I have always wanted to change my name to Marry Anne, because it sounds beautiful. However, I like my name because it represents me by being my own name.

 Casey

I have heard of other people with my name, maybe two or three times, that's why I love it! My name means a lot to me, I might not show that, but it does. My name means "Valorous, brave, watchful." So if I'm afraid to do something, like sail to Mexico, I'll think of my name, "be brave." Not like that would happen.

Nobody that I known of in my family history as the name Casey, but that's okay. If you go look online my name is not one of the top 10, that can be changed. Soon enough I'll be doing something great and some people will hear the name that I love, Casey! Some people really don't like their name so they change it forever , I would never do that, because my name, your name, everyone's name will will grow into that one person. Who knows maybe you'll be famouse and everyone will yell out your name. That's my name Casey, for the rest of my life!

 Brian

Brian. Its meaning is "one with strength and nobility." I don't think I suit my name, for one, I'm weak, not strong. Another reason is that I'm not very noble. Also, It's and Irish anme, and I'm not Irish. I guess my sister, who picked my name, thought it was an English name. My Vietnamese name is Teo (Tao).

Even though my name doesn't fit me, I wouldn't change it. All the other names I think of sound unusual and don't fit me. Also, I'm already used to my name, thanks to my brother yelling it at me, especially when I was his slave for a month. My name may not fit me, but it sounds okay. I like these names bacause not all pelple have nacinames, but I have three of them. E would not want to change my name because I am the fourth generation of Williams. If I had children, their names would be Katie and William so I wouldn't disobey the family tradition. My name is William and I'm proud I have that name.

 Caitlyn

Caitlyn, Caitlyn, Caitlyn...I've been thinking about my name all day. My name has been passed down from my family from great autns and great grandmothers. My name is Italian. My mom gave me my name bacause she liked it, she thought it was a beutiful name.

The way I feel about my name is it a special part of my life. In my language (Vietnamese), it means flower, but in English it means "Roman goddess of spring and the wife of Valcan." Have you ever wondered how you received your name? Well, my name is Keith and I want to tell you about mine. My name has two meanings from what I know of but they are "flow of the wind" and "from the battle place." I have had times when I wanted to change my name, but now I like it and I understand it more.

My father suggested this name because he has a brother namned Keith. Let me give you a little advice: if you don't like your name, think how you reciev it and why. When I know what my name meant, I started to realize how important it was to me. The same might just help you to like your name better too.

 Danielle

My name is Danielle Alyse Brill. I don't like my name, but it's not that bad. I could live with it. My name is French and means "God is my judge." I t was given to me by my parents before I was born. My parents just liked the name Danielle. They were going to call me Rachel, Rahcelle, Renee or Michelle, but they called me Danielly. Too bad they didn't call my Michelle. My grandpa picked my middle name and wanted to spell it E-L-Y-S-E, but my mom spelled it A-L-Y-S-E. It doesn't make a difference because it is still pronounced the same way.

I likie my name, but I like the name Michelle better. I like what my name means. I like my middle name. I aslo really like most of my nicknames, but most of all I like how my name fits me. Even though I have considered changing my name, I really never would. I've grown quite accustomed to it.

 Daisy

My name means "the sun of the day and delight in people's lives." Daisy is happy and sunny and it also brings joy. Daisy has a wonderful ring to it. You can pick daisies on a beautiful afternoon. If my name were a color, it would be yellow because it is bright and shiny like me! I got my name from my mom because my sister's name is a flower and so is my last name (Rose). I love my name!
