4 Exemplary

• All criteria for Proficient have been met
• Shows extensive research and original insights
• Conversation captures the "voice" of each person (e.g., incorporates an actual quote by each person in a meaningful, logical way)

3 Proficient

• Includes an explanation of the major challenges each person faced during his/her lifetime
• Includes at least three major accomplishments for each person
• Includes at least one question each person might have for the other, along with the answer
• Reflects research
• Contains historically accurate information
• Has been proofread for meaning, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Reflects pride in work (neatly done, no smudges, torn edges)

2 Progressing

• Meets 5-6 of the criteria for Proficient
• May contain trivial information
• More work is needed

1 Not Yet Meeting the Standards

• Less than 5 of the criteria for Proficient have been met
• Dialogue sheet should be redone
