Just got 40 oz to freedom. It's so good! I was really getting tired of listening to A place in the sun, LIT, over and over again. Sublime is always much better to listen to over and over again. First you listen to the rythym and then the melody, and then the words.
Software testing is so much fun... -g

I just love the internet sometimes! Waiting in my inbox today was a message from highschoolalumni.com telling me that there was a message waiting for me on their website. I was scared that it would be an ex-boyfriend or something, but it was a sweet girl/lady that I haven't been in contact with for eight years. Ever since we graduated. I wrote her back right away and told her what my life is like now! The other e-mail waiting for me was from my second cousin in the Philippines, whom I met in May. She made me smile by telling me she loves me a million times. Wow! to have someone who I just met 3 months ago care so much about me. The big thing in the P.I. is text messages. So I can go to a website, and e-mail her a message telling her that I got her e-mail1 Fun! It's a happy Monday!

I'm such a little girl sometimes!!! I must admit I still love Barbie. Is it unusual for someone past 25? We went to Toys-R-Us last night and Jessica and Jayme both got Generation Girl Mari and mom got Jalen Nichelle. My cousins are in Junior high and my sister is in high school. Are they too old even? But they are so cool now! My Barbies were always blond with blue eyes. The only exception was Oriental Barbie from the Dolls of the World Collection. That's what I forgot to get when I was in the Philippines! That stupid dolls of the World Collection doesn't include a Philipina Barbie! You have to get her direct from the Philippines. They have a whole series of centenial barbies. They look just like Mutya ng Pilipinas!
I'd love to collect them all(even the blonds with blue eyes), but I'll wait till I have a little girl. Hopefully, she won't be a total tomboy!

Well, I made it to work in time for my 7:00 meeting. I've finished most of my grande white chocolate mocha, and I'm still sleepy. What is wrong with me? I need more sleep. I wish I could just curl up under my desk for fifteen minutes. I'd feel very refreshed then. I haven't had much to write about lately. I'm so web surfed out. I haven't found any new favorites, lately. Just stuff from the newspaper interests me once in awhile. I need a more interesting book to read also. The last one was White Oleander. I liked it. I wish I had more time for everything I want to do...

It's raining in Manila. Actually, there was a typhoon. My dad sent me an e-mail that said "Did you hear about this?"
I didn't hear about that, but my second cousin Mayet, in Quezon City, wrote me e-mail and told me that it had been raining for weeks and it was flooded everywhere.
Before I met all my family there, this kind of thing wouldn't effect me much. But now I wonder if Tia Maria is doing OK, if Jelson and Ruth had to move into Tia Pising's house, because their house on the beach flew away, if Lee and Mayet have to ride in those tricycles through the flood just to get to work everyday. I can just imagine the sapa in Sapang Bato raging with water...
I need to remember to start packing some boxes and writing some letters. I promised Clark and Giselle some music cassettes and Jerca some clothes and toiletries. I even promised Robert some perm solution and some hair clippers.
So now, maybe all the winter stuff Lolo and Uncle Joey sent there are being used.
To all my newly found family in the PI. I didn't forget you, it was just very hectic when I got back home. Stay safe and eventually I'll send some things.

christine shared her thoughts on what it means for her to be an american and also a filipina.
It's a touchy subject for us. We all want Revolution, but go about it in different ways. I've realized that the label Filipino-American pretty much sums it up. I am filipino and I am american. There was no question about that when I visited the Philippines in May. To them, I was Balikbayan. But to me, I was a foreigner . What I discovered about my relationship with the homeland is that I'm very proud that I came from such a beautiful country where there is history and I can somehow be related to everyone living in a town and has a beautiful land, beautiful plants, beautiful sea, and beautiful people. But I'm also happy that my grandparents immigrated here. When I was in the Philippines, I realized that we do have everything in the U.S. and our government cares for our people very well. Imagine having no running water, because you can't afford to pay for the pipes to be connected to your house. Imagine the electricity going out on the hottest day with no warning and then no electric fan. Imagine people living in houses inches away from the railroad tracks or the freeway. Imagine eating bananas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because that's all you have. I've learned to love the simple things I have here, because I missed them in the Philippines.
No one can tell me that I'm not American and no one can tell me that I'm not Filipino. I am both. My contribution to the Revolution is not letting anybody tell me different.
I will empower myself by working hard and finding my success. I believe that truely ignorant people can not really be helped and therefore can be ignored most of the time. But I will fight when it is necessary...
OK, that's enough of that...I hope you all had a happy and fun fourth of July. I celebrated by watching fire works over the ocean that separates me from the Philippines. It was really fun!!! Happy Birthday America!

I can't believe that there's only two of us at work today. Who's gonna call in for help anyway, they're all on vacation.
Some random stuff: I have the word "STOKED", it sounds like some airheaded dude. As in, "I am sooo STOKED, Dude!" :-P I can't stand it!!!!!
I got some cool $5 sunglasses form Uncle Lito's store. It's so cool that he had Hollywood cat eye sunglsses.
The Perfect Storm was a really good movie. No wonder seafood is so expensive. It's worth every cent...
Enjoy the fireworks tonight and tomorrow!!! Happy Birthday America!!!
