About Face, How sex and race are dividing Asian Americans, another aritcle on Asian Americans. This one is on dating. Specifically Asian Americans dating whites.
I've already told you my opinion. The autor of this ariticle admits her own feelings "...I honestly felt better standing next to a Caucasian guy--it meant that I had a better chance of being perceived as a American." Woa...But she's overcome those feelings now...
I admitted to someone yesterday, that the reason I'm attracted to Filipino guys is partly because I want to have brown babies. She laughed at me...

Sometimes sad news just makes me want to cry. Neither side wins in this one. Did you ever read Lord of the Flies? So disturbing. (the "Agnes's" favorite version)
On a lighter note, I'm in a new band called Gilip Maymara! Philip, Jayme, Mara and I went to EMP on Tuesday night. We stayed for 5 hours and could have stayed longer. The Sound Room and the Artisit's Journey were the most fun. It's worth the $$!

OK, This is making me mad! I don't know anything about CGI scripts. I just want to copy some html code and paste it and VIOLA! I have a counter on my page.
The BESEEN counter didn't work like they said it would.
But finally...Escati's free counter works. The gold color kinda clashes, but it adds some elegance and makes my page look a little gawdy....
Scroll down to the bottom. You're probably made the top ten!

I had to replace my counter on this page. The other counter I had doesn't exist anymore! I got a free one from BESEEN
It's probably only me that looks at this anyway. I haven't even tried to promote it. It's kinda comforting to know that only you read it. Then we won't have any stalkers!

Happy Birthday to YOU! Happy Birthday to YOU! Happy Birthday DEAR JUSSSSEEEE! Happy Birthday to you!
It's Justin's 20th Birthday everybody! Don't you feel old now? I do. He was a big handful as a kid. He could be the biggest brat in the world and then the sweetest and cutest boy alive.
He had two blue bears. A big one and a little one. I asked him what the name of the big blue bear was. "Blueberry!" "Then, what's the name of the little blue bear, Justin?" "Blueberry TWO!"
Oh he was cute, sometimes... Don't you remember when he used to smell his BB and suck his thumb? Remember when he stole a handful of chopsticks from the Chinese Restaurant and put them inside his Jean jacket inside pocket and Mom made him return them? Remember when he kept a dead bumblebee in his pocket and we finally realized that that was why he stunk? Remember when he chewed up oreo cookies and chased us around the house with his mouth open? Remember when we had a rubberband war around the whole house and then has to clean it up before mom and dad came home? Remember when he tried to sneak out of the house to go to a dance wearing these big pants that he borrowed from somebody because he wanted to sag and dad caught him and wouldn't let him go to the dance?
Happy Birthday Jusy. I love you!
Love, Ate

Meg collected sugar packets while she was vacationing in Hawaii. I did that too, but now I can't remember where I put them. I always want to collect souvenirs, but I never know what to do with all that stuff!
Speaking of souvenirs...Philip and I just returned from a trip to the Bay Area. It was just a little weekend get away. We started out by going to Marine World for FREE. We had so much fun! Free fun is always the best. We rode all the rollercoasters and watched a dolphin show, that Philip fell asleep during... The next day Darvin took us around San Francisco. We didn't want to go to the same old places we went before and we didn't want to go shopping at stores they have in Seattle, so he took us to Japan Town and Haight Street. Thanks Darvin for showing us around. Everybody at home loved the Krispy Kremes. I got some stares and comments carrying around the box in the airport!

Last month we were caravaning it home from Ocean Shores and my 11 year old cousin, James yells into the talk about, "Britney Spears is Hot!"
Now that they have webTV at they're home in Tenino, Washington, I wonder if he is a member of sfhbs, Society for Future Husbands of Britney Spears!
I love to tease him, but just because I love him!
Mara and Auntie Mimi will be returning from a month long trip to Italy next week. It seems like they've been gone forever. I miss them...

The Seattle Times ran a series of articles on Asian Men, saying that they're the hottest thing now... Read them! I think they are funny!
They're hot, they're sexy, ....they're asian men! This guy is still a dork, but hehas a funny list of Asian man style. Hella coo doo!
Six (Asian) bachelors wonder where the action is. Maybe because they're geeks!
Cool: Uncle Bob Santos did the Hustle! I like him...Philip sang karaoke with him at Bush Garden. He's a cool ol' Cat...
Here are some quotes from Seattle Times readers, reacting to the first article. These are some that amused me.... -"Do we think we are sexy? Stupid question, we know we are sexy." -"Heck, yes, my Asian bruddahs are mega-fine, hella-good-looking, dang sexy (provided they have a good haircut)." -"But do I feel sexy? Hmmm. Personally, I get no girls. I got no car. I got no cash. But damn, I'm sexy . . . 'cause, baby, David Nakamura says so. " -"By the way, I am married to a beautiful, Caucasian blonde . . . " -"I find it offensive to be found attractive by white women because of my race . . . " -"Being a typical 15-year-old ABC (American- born Chinese) living in Federal Way, it's not easy being "hot". . . " -"I can't explain it, but I find most Asian men extremely attractive. I am a 25-year-old white woman . . . " -"I am a white female who has found Asian men to be so sensuous."
I'm afraid to say anything else on this topic. I don't want to offend anybody, but this is my weblog sooo... First of all I don't really like the word SEXY. Some asian guys are "sexy" and some are not "sexy". Some asian guys think they're "sexy" and they are not "sexy" at all! But, I think you can pin that on any guy not just asian guys.
There are a lot of guys out there that just have it! The personality, the looks, the morals, the attitude. But it doesn't really matter what race they are. They've just got it.
Philip is filipino and I admit that that had a lot to do with why I chose him. His ethnicity mattered to me, because I wanted someone who understood me and shared my culture and my morals. But I learned that his ethnicity didn't really guarantee all that, it was him. There are a lot of Filipino guys that I don't like. I don't like how some look. I don't like how some act. So I guess, my point is that, race and ethnicity doesn't really matter. You have to find the right person...
I really didn't like that comment about, "I'm asian and I'm married to a blonde white woman." It was like he was bragging. I hate that attitude that some Asians put out there, that because they're with a white person they are better. That we should be proud of them for "catching" a white person. Like somehow being with that white person brings them to a higher level. WHATEVER!!!
Love shouldn't be about that! If you're in a multiracial relationship, you should be proud that your love was not prejudice and that the cultural differences you had didn't matter to you. You should be proud that you're willing to teach eachother about eachother and share your cultures with eachother. That's what it should be about!
And I'm guilty of being prejudice this way sometimes...Kind of rolling my eyes when I see a filipina with a puti, or a pinoy w/ a puti, but that's because I've seen a lot of people put out a bad attitude. Why do we put ourselves down that way. We should approach the world with an equal attitude. That's how God intended it. And hopefully more people will do that and that "I'm mightier than you because I'm with puti" attitude will no longer exist and then my stupid prejudice will go away. Because I really shouldn't think that way.
I just remember what I learned in one of my religion classes... God is above gender, God is above race, God is above being rich or being poor.
This is what I'll teach my children...
Oh and back to the subject. At least with this new popularity, the asian man isn't the first to die in a movie. -g

Guess who's in town!!!!
Here's a hint
I don't really like her, but secretly I do. I bet her concert would be cool though. Remember those robot dancers from the Gramy's last year? I thought those were really cool. And sometimes, lip synching is really entertaining. Like Drag queens. Didn't you like Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

unfortunately we had to share
Explodingdog cracks me up sometimes...

Hi, I haven't written much in awhile...nothing much has been happening. The weekend was jam packed with no time to relax. On Friday, I got my cousin Joel wasted while on a "27" run in Pioneer Square. Don't worry, he didn't really have 27 drinks...On Saturday, we attended a wedding. Poor Philip, everybody kept asking him if we were next. I think we will be, but goodness! There's going to be a lot of people at our wedding!...On Sunday, we went to a BBQ in Tacoma and then to watch What Lies Beneath. Amie and I were hiding under our coats! It was scary!
Just the same ol' stuff. My life is so routine right now and its been pretty slow at work.
I'll write something more interesting when something more interesting happens! Make my life more interesting and Write me!!! -g

We watched Magnolia last night. It was good, but I'm now a member of the "I hate Tom Cruise club." He is such an over-actor and he's sooo SLIMEY looking! You know what! I asked Jeeves, and it really does rain frogs sometimes.
Whoda thunk?
