"You were REALLY late today...You honked at the vanpool at 7:06, when we leave at 7:05."
..who do you think you are, my dad? Thank God you're not. Don't you just hate the person who is just so condescending, but you have to be nice since you have to see them everyday. I just want to say something equally obnoxious right back. But I just hold it in till he walks in front of me and I do my "GAG ME!" face to the back of his head.

Jayme and I finally went to lap swim again. Everyone said, "long time, no see. Where have you been?"...umm...we just told them our excuses of being really busy and didn't tell them that we're really just lazy asses. I was looking for a
new workout before we went, but Jayme likes our workout.

The Fellores sister's lap swim workout:
warmup - 200 free, 200 kick, 200 free arms only(you have to stick those floater things between your legs), 200 free

next we do whatever...yesterday - 5 X 50 free, 5 X 100 free
of course we always rest in between and we never have timed sets. Also we swim in the Medium swimmers lane so we don't have to work so hard. The Fast swimmers lane is full of people that think they're fast, so they leave to wall right after you and try to touch your feet to let you know that you're slower than them. At least we know we're faster than the Medium swimmers in our lane, and if we catch up, it's just a rest for us. We do breastroke behind them and try not to bother their swim by touching their feet. Then we just wait on the wall until they get far enough ahead of us that we don't catch up.

cool down:
5 minutes slow swimming whatever stroke.

I feel quite refreshed today and not sore. Good that we took it easy...

fresh blogs today:
I like Heather's picture on harrumph.

Today's song (track 7 on Jojo&Maya's wedding give away CD):
I've been driving Philip crazy I think. Every time he plays that CD, I run over and put it on track 7. I just like it...

SADE "by your side"

Phil and I had a great married people weekend.
We celebrated being married for 2 months on Friday night:

Restaurant Review:
Nara Grill
The food was OK, but the best sushi in town is still Shiro's Sushi, followed by Toyoda Sushi. We've been wanting to try Nara Grill since we sat in their bar while waiting to see the Exorcist at the Cinerama. They had a really good bartender then, who had a really good martini menu. Wasabi martinis, frango martinis, other great dessert martinis. But I guess the bar tender isn't there anymore, because I had a really, really gross chocolate martini. I haven't been too hot on sushi since I got food poisoning from eating at The Eating Factory, but Philip likes it, so I let him enjoy himself this time...Next month, remember that it's my pick...

Video picks for this weekend:
Someone Like You - Ashley Judd and the guy that plays Wolverine(w/out those sideburns)...Both of us liked this one, entertaining, romantic comedy. Men are like cows?

Tao of Steve - Fat guy who can still pick up women...good video pick, good guy/chick movie, shot in Santa Fe.

Memento - Oh god, our heads hurt! The very first scene Philip says to me, "Why do they have to do all this flashback stuff, why can't they just show it normal?" I guess he didn't hear that the whole movie is backwards...we both thought it was a waste of time. Philip didn't even want to discuss it after and try to figure out WHY? I just couldn't believe they just ended it like that...or was it started it like that...whatever...

fresh blogs today:
Chrisitne, maganda.org
Faith, dollheads.com..she made a great memorial page

Today's song: (because I heard it all weekend long & can't get it out of my head)

"God Bless the U S A" by Lee Greenwood.
I saw him live at the Solono County Fair, when my Uncle John made all of us stay to listen before we could go on any rides. I'll never, ever forget Lee Greenwood or the fact that my Uncle John was a huge fan. Country music in California? listen!

We learned all about
Bob Marley when we watched Rebel Music at EMP on 9/19/01. It was pretty fun. We want to go back and see the Island Revolution exhibit before it ends.

Up for this weekend:
food? or dining?
maybe a movie?
a ferry ride
a visit
the fair...

Today's song (from the High Fidelity soundtrack)

Track 15: STEVIE WONDER "I Believe (When I Fall In Love)"
listen!

I'm so proud of myself. I'm becoming a really talented knitter! I just finished this
baby sweater. But my color scheme is a little brighter. Who's the lucky child? The second baby Austin! She's due on October 13, 2001. but her mother has a feeling that she's coming sooner.

I also thougt that this was really cool: Mayor keeps his promise, steps in to give away bride. Life goes on...but we'll always remember.

Jorge Colombo draws daily pictures of people he sees out and about in New York. Check out this week's The Dailies.

wow...

Today's song: USA for Africa, but for this ocassion...USA for USA

There comes a time when we need a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh, and it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can't go on pretending day by day
That someone, somehow will soon make a change
We're all a part of God's great big family
And the truth - you know love is all we need

We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

Well, send'em you your heart
So they know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us
By turning stone to bread

And so we all must lend a helping hand

We are the world, We are the children...

When you're down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, let's realize
That one change can only come
When we stand together as one

We are the World, We are the Children...

We made the
frontpage!
You can just see the back of my head.

Things are slowly returning to normal. I've gotten to the point where I can't bear to see the crashes or the collapse of the towers anymore. I just pray for peace and for the repose of the souls of all who died.

I'm tired of all the commentary..."This is what we're going to do..., "This is who allegedly did it..."
I'll just wait till things happen and deal with it then. Having patience is what gives me hope.

We drove by the Mosque by Northgate on Saturday. So many people outside asking for peace and blessings for America. Sounds kinda stupid, but I stuck my hand out the window and waved them all the peace sign. Felt a little like a hippie.

The Prodigal Son was the gospel reading this Sunday. I thought it was very fitting since the church was overflowing with people returning to celebrate mass for comfort. Even when it takes tragedy for you to come home to Jesus, it's still good. Welcome home...

I'm just frightened…I'm frightened by the possibility of war against an unknown enemy. If the enemy is like the thoughts that are going through my head, I know this possible war is WORLDWIDE. Not country against country, but countries fighting their own citizens or countries fighting other countries' citizens. It just scares me.

And if that's not scary enough now this…
Seattle mosque targeted by attack…It's just down the street from our house. And many more incidents like it happening all over the country…

This crazy state of mind isn't just happening to Arab Americans or Muslim Americans…Phil witnessed a co-worker address another co-worker with, "Why can't you just speak English. I've put people like you in body bags." If that's not a death threat, then what is it? Management just said, "Everyone is just very tense right now…" Like hell they are. Statements like that are never excused under any circumstances. Go over your manager's head if nothing will be done and go directly to HR.

I don't know which scares me more: Racists or Terrorists. Evil, I guess.

To take your mind off things…Fun for the weekend. The Great Wallingford Wurst Festival!
My girls are dancing on Sunday: Las Estrallitas@12:25. I'm amazed that people still come and watch us, even when we keep doing the same dances over and over again, year after year. I'm happy that the girls still have fun with it and said they'll do it for as long as they can. We'll probably have to retire when they all go off to college. BTW girls…have fun taking Jennifer(NO BOYS ALLOWED) to the Chetter Dance tonight.

Today's song …Too bad our future is written by history, but it's the only solution we know.

War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
War is something that I despise
For it means destruction of innocent lives
For it means tears in thousands of mothers' eyes
When their sons go out to fight to give their lives

War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again…

War
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
War is the enemy of all mankind
The thought of war blows my mind
Handed down from generation to generation
Induction destruction
Who wants to die

War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again…

War has shattered many young men's dreams
Made them disabled bitter and meanLife is too precious to be fighting wars
each day
War can't give life it can only take it away

War
It's nothing but a heartbreaker
War
Friend only to the undertaker
Peace love and understanding
There must be some place for these things today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord there's gotta be a better way
That's better than
War

War
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again…

I lost it on the way home yesterday...
Two people were standing on the overhead pass of I-5 holding
American flags. And that was it. Tears came out and my heart ached.
I just got so depressed. Wierd that I have a delayed reaction to this and now it just hurts.

We tried to escape it all yesterday by walking Dioji around Greenlake. I think others had the same idea. Good escape actually...if only Dioji didn't jump out of the truck on the way there...Great fun to have a 140 lb dog in your lap in the cab of a pickup truck.

...more thoughts...What really scares me is the racism that comes out now BLATANTLY. What's funny is that Americans kid themselves into thinking that racism does not exist anymore. That's why we don't need Affirmative Action anymore and now there's "reverse racism" against white people instead. HELLO! Can't you see now that things haven't changed much! I know racism(against "minority"people) still exists. I feel it everyday...

Just read this: "Are you from Afghanistan??" All eyes turned upon me, burning, each one accompanied with accusatory frowns. Needless to say, I very sheepishly said: "I am not from Afghanistan.", then I quietly left ... with an empty stomach and almost crying.

Can we open our eyes now?

All we can do is pray...
I feel like some people get sick of me for saying that in bad times. Just because they think it doesn't work for themselves. But maybe prayer is not what you think it is. God doesn't answer your prayers by making your wishes come true. God is not your genie in a bottle.

So I started praying the Rosary last night and while driving to work this morning. I haven't memorized the
mysteries nor the Apostle's Creed, nor Hail Holy Queen. I have to consult How to Pray the Rosary to say it all correctly. But I always turn to this prayer when I feel like I can't do anything else. It may be my own thrown together version, but its meaningful in my heart. It centers me and calms me. That's what prayer does for me...helps me sort out my thoughts and feelings. Makes me remember God's presence and love for me. It's comforting to me.

My "adopted" little sister Marissa was 3 blocks away from the World Trade Center attending classes at NYU. She witnessed people jumping from the building and then had to walk for 4 hours to her apartment in Queens. Thank God she is fine. But I just think of her there by herself with no one to comfort her. She finally called her mom here in Seattle and cried her tears to her through the phone. I wish hugs could be felt through the phone...

Philip also has a cousin that works in the World Trade Center. We've heard through the grape vine that she's safe, but that's all...

So just pray and remember that God is with us always...

Have you noticed that work goes by faster while listening to music? My dad used to ask me how I can concentrate doing my homework with the radio on. For some reason, I can concentrate better when I can tune the rest of the world out and listen to music.

I've been listening to
CKLN at work. Who knew Canadians were so hip?

I also like Net Radio: Reggae, but they tend to repeat the same songs over and over, day to day. I always hear Night Nurse by Gregory Isaacs. I change it when that song comes one because I know its just looping.

Three years ago I listened to Dr. Laura online. But for some reason, I can't get her through the firewall at work anymore.

Phil's favorite has been KPOA, but they won't let him access internet at work anymore. I guess they have a weak Firewall. It makes me vacation-sick for Maui though. That's all we listened to while we were there. They even beat the Honolulu stations!

I spent yesterday watching line dance ladies at Maxwell's Christening Party. I never knew there were so many line dances.

So today's song is Cha-Cha Slide(I vaguely remember doing this at my bachelorette party at that karaoke bar, we made oh so fun):

Uh...A'right come on y'all clap it up
A'right come on y'all clap it up
Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on

To the right
To the left
Take it back
One hop
Right foot, lets thump
Left foot, lets thump
Cha-Cha, now Y'all
Turn it out!....

To the right
To the left
Take it back
One hop
Right foot, lets thump
Left foot, lets thump
Cha-Cha, now Y'all
Turn it out!....

Now you can do it too!

Where did all my spare time go?
Seems like its been non-stop since we got back from our honeymoon...
No time to sit still. At least we're done attending weddings for this year.

Jojo & Maya had a beautiful, beautiful wedding. It was cold there though. God revealed himself for sure and also put all of us there through a little torture, but it was sure worth it! Love, Love, and more Love...

I discovered the other day, that my dog doesn't respond to OUT! You have to say OUTSIDE! He's so wierd...

Martin Kenji Matsudaira was born on September 04, 2001. 6lbs, 5 oz. I wonder if he'll call me ninang too? Connor had told me, "I'm gonna hold my baby brotha, cause I have big muscles!" Wish I could post that picture of him hold his baby brother...Phil and I really need to get a computer!

I've discovered that my friends have been keeping blogs on
AsianAvenue. Too bad I'm not so a hip asian!

Try Members: KRYLON, spinja, simonligaya

Jojo & Maya's song(I love stevie wonder too!):

Over time, I've building my castle of love
Just for two, though you never knew you were my reason
I've gone much too far for you now to say
That I've got to throw my castle away

Over dreams, I have picked out a perfect come true
Though you never knew it was of you I've been dreaming
The sandman has come from too far away
For you to say come back some other day

And though you don't believe that they do
They do come true
For did my dreams
Come true when I looked at you
And maybe too, if you would believe
You too might be
Overjoyed, over loved, over me
