Tired ...Tired ...Tired
Sick... Sick ...Sick

I wish I didn't feel so crappy and tired. I want to be energized and awake...I feel like yuck!
On my sick day, I felt more productive at home than I do at work. Went grocerey shopping, cooked a big pot of soup, took out the recycling, cleaned my kitchen, did some laundry, and knitted, of course. I also slept for three ours and woke up early enough to watch Steel Magnolias on cable and to greet my husband home from work.

He always gives me this "I caught you!" look, when he discovers I called in sick to work. I admit, I do the same thing to him. It's that feeling of jealousy that the other got to stay home. But I'd actually accomplish a lot if I got to stay home all the time. Takes you back to sexist ages of when men bring home the bacon. I'm not saying that I want to be an at home wife. I'd probably go crazy after a couple days, but I really felt like I accomplished something.

It's wierd that most days I just feel like crashing when I get home from work. Phil and I ask eachother "What's for dinner?" for a couple hours, because we're both hungry, but don't want to cook. We just want to wait for the other to do something about it first. And our housework is the same way. We leave it for later, until it's piled up and scary. Then on the weekend, we both just want to relax and be together, not work and be together.

Maybe we should hire a maid....
Maybe my cold will go away...
Maybe I'll get my energy back...
Maybe I should go to bed earlier...

My husband really thinks I'm a good catch now! I cooked us a pot of mungo last night. Yummm! It's ok that it was enough to feed 7 people. He ate it for breakfast this morning and I took baon for lunch.
I substituted ham for hamhocks though...
Fast kind mungo...

We had a great weekend, really.

Dinner @ Red Robin Friday night with my husband. Bottomless Fries are great, but then you can't eat your burger. The only thing is that you run into people you haven't seen for awhile. That can be good or bad...
Went home and watched
Final Fantasy on DVD. It was good, but I like it better with the ending I made up in my head.

Awoke to the smell of French toast cooking on Saturday morning. Woke up and helped my husband finish cooking. Why does breakfast smell linger for 3 days? ~ When we got to Home Depot we realized we forgot a crucial measurement. ~ When we returned to Home Depot, we purchased our subfloor. Grout and tile here we come!!! ~ Birthday diner for Mara the Soopa-Stah! @ Buca di Beppo. Happy Birthday! Cha-Cha-Cha! I'm happy that the new Jamiroquai and the new Eagle Eye Cherry cd's made Nara Fresh Spring water giddy. SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY HAD NEW CD'S OUT! It pays to lounge around in CD stores. Who's down with the new music now?

Jayme and I lead children's liturgy at Mass on Sunday. It scared me more than it scared the kids to talk about the end of the world. I'm always afraid of my words biting me back. Parents could approach me and totally cuss me out. It's not just teaching facts and data, I'm trying to help mold their children's spirituality. Really, I only teach the basics...Jesus loves us and we need to remember He's with us in our hearts all the time...Even when the end of the world comes. Scary stuff! So we discussed how we were scared when the earthquake came and what comforted us during that time. Lucy said, "I was scared, but then I felt a calm feeling from inside me (pointing to her heart), then I knew it would be OK." Amazing words coming from a second grader dressed in a purple sparkle dress, with a big pink bow above her left ear...

My mom is so cool! She came home from a 6 hour yarn spinning class, with a brand new spinning wheel. I sat and was mesmerized by her spinning the wheel, pulling the fluff into yarn and feeding it onto the spool. It was so cool and exciting. She let me try too. I was a spinning fool. My retirement dream may come true. Raise Alpacas on a little ranch and spin their fur into yarn and make sweaters, hats, mittens, socks.

I really missed Jojo and Maya. Busy, busy, busy...We all enjoyed Harry Potter. I dreamt of witches and wizards last night. My favorite character is Hermione Granger. We've agreed to see Lord of the Rings (the one I'm really waiting for). It's COO!

My new music obsession: Keahiwai - Local Girl Listen!
Check out the whole album!

Happy Birthday Mara!

You're a SOOPERSTAH!

Jason on
Foxtrot has been having a war with one of his classmates. I'm curious myself. Who do you like better?

Take my poll:
Frodo Baggins or Harry Potter
Everyone is buzzing over the new FANTASY book to movie. But, which one are they talking `bout?

Which suits your fancy?

Lord of the Rings

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Never heard of either

View the results

As for myself, I'm more into Lord of the Rings. I'm trying to finish Fellowship of the Ring before the movie comes out. Phil's brother-in-law is trying to finish Harry Potter (book 1) before the movie comes out.
I just have no desire to read the "Nuevo" book right now. Maybe I will after I watch the movie or when I have kids. To me, Lord of the Rings just seems to have more meat to it. Tolkien is a classic and he really has a brilliant mind to come up with Third World and all these different species. What gets me are the maps he drew to go along with the book. WOW!

Crafty Update:
*Went to Wal-Mart today, I'm making Felt Baby shoes in baby pink, fusia, lavender and white. I just can't bring myself to shop off a registry for a baby shower gift. I think my craftiness is turning me into a tight wad!!! I'd rather spend $ on supplies to make a gift, than the actual gift. I wonder if I'm really saving anything sometimes.

*I'm also knitting a cute little newborn hat: yellow, lavender, baby blue, baby green. I hope I'm not wore out by the time I have my own baby!

*Trying to knit for Christmas. Mostly Socks. Knitting socks is so cool, because it actually looks like a sock while you're knitting. Darv keeps asking me to make him a beanie with a brim, but I can't find a pattern. Do you think he'd wear this Groovy Cap? I think I'll just surprise him.

*(Not necessarily crafty) Phil pulled up the hardwood floor in the hallway and he's drawing up plans on how to install ceramic tile. I'll soon be busy spreading grout. I just wonder how we'll leave the house since the hallway leads to the front door. It's the only door we ever use!

Too much TV:(now that we have cable)
*Our new obsession is Junk Yard Wars on TLC. TLC is almost the best....

*Remember to watch Survivor tonight!

Working on a Sunday...
Must be crazy, but we're trying to prepare for a worst case scenario. Yesterday, Phil did OT in the morning while I slept in. He arrived back home an hour after I awoke. Today it's his turn to sleep in. OT is yuck, but the extra $ is good to have.

After showering and watching Trading Spaces, Phil and I headed to Sam's and bought a mondo size bag of dog food for our mondo size baby and some bulk cleaning supplies. I was motivated enough to buy the materials to clean, let's just see if I'm equally motivated to clean. If anyone ever needs any comet or sponges, we have LOTS...we packed the trunk and caught a ferry to B_Town via Bainbridge...Thanks to a freak BRAINFART on my part, we had an hour time to kill while my purse rode back without me to Seattle and then back to meet me in Bainbridge. I finished knitting a sock(Yes, I'm starting on Christmas gifts already) while we waited.

I really hate when I have BRAINFARTS!! I'm so lucky, especially in this case. Thank God there was an honest person who found my bag. Honest or just afraid of terror bombs and anthrax...

Mom Tessie & Dad Lito treated Phil and I for his belated birthday dinner and supplies from the
Sari Sari Store to stock up on. So in case we get trapped in our house due to disaster we have essentials to surrvive on. Here's a list of our essentials:

mondo size bag of dog food
comet
sponges
Pocki Sticks in Choco and Coco
Young coconut juice
canned corned beef
Spam
Rice (our rice dispenser has been full for 6 months, it's gonna take us 5 years to eat a 50 lb bag>
mamon tostado
Pastilles
shrimp chips
an assortment of sauces: soy, patis, huli huli, sriracha, sweet chili w/ garlic, jufran, oyster... & many more! (courtesty of the Ate Jade and family, left for us in the cupboards after they moved)

Dilemas: JUST A RANT from me about something I'm tired of seeing...

Are there times when "none of your business" should be your business? The thing is I care about the people in my life AND if I were in the same position I would want you to tell me...

If only more women (and some men) could have the same attitude as Oran "Juice" Jones did in the song The Rain.

Wouldn't it just feel so good to say:
"Close you mouth, cause you're cold busted!"
"You're dismissed...You Silly Rabit...Tricks are for kids!"

It's a shame to base your future on lies...HAVE RESPECT FOR YOURSELF AND DON'T DO IT!!!

-g
P.S. I wish I could find a music clip of "I saw you (&him) walking in the rain". It was my favaorite for one week in 7th grade. I wonder if they have this on Karaoke...

No surprises for Phil on his birthday. He wants jeans and he needs to be there when we get them so no surprise. I went to
Simply Desserts afterwork and tried getting him a Chocolate White Chocolate cake, but they're closed on Mondays, so no surprise.

But I reserved a table for 12 and it was full. I have so much anxiety when I have to plan a party and I don't know how many people are coming. Sometimes my husband is just too popular. Like the year I reserved a table for 30 and more than 30 showed. I didn't know all of Bremerton was visiting home the same day as Phil's birthday. So this time we had a small gathering and it was nice. We had to listen to BTown reminisce about Jr. High days, and because Almin was there they went way back! But Phil enjoyed himself.

Later Philip got a few little surprises. A free birthday race at SyKart. And free SyKart hats for the three recovering racing addicts. Another surprise when we got home too. Ray Dela** called to wish his friend a happy, happy birthday and to tell me to make a baby already.(I think we're just not ready yet. so don't rush us) And to clear things up...I didn't hang up on you Ray the cell phone battery quit and couldn't look up your number since it's stored in the phone that wouldn't turn on. Sorry...

"What kind of websites do you look at? You come up with some wierd links" - Darv
Just for him...Interesting websites I've visited lately:

*"A good way to save money is to shower together" Just one of 50 Ways to Save Money

*Seems like everyone went to the movies last weekend! Phil and I saw The One. We both liked it. At the birthday dinner, Sofia was telling me all about Monsters, Inc. It got 4 stars in the Seattle Times review.

I want to see Mike and Sulley on the big screen!
Since there are no little kids to take, Phil and I are going to take Jayme and Mara. I think Mara definitely counts as a kid.

*I thought that this GPS Drawing page was kinda cool. Imagine driving around the city just to make a picture

*Just for the girls...be a makeup artist online!

Todays song! Naked Eye by Luscious Jackson. - Justin found my CD when he was housesitting and didn't put it away. So I listened to it too.
