Are you ready for

I'm excited, I just finished reading the Fellowship of the Ring. It took me awhile, but I finished the day the movie comes out!!! Who knows if we'll be able to see it today. So much stuff to do...

Phil and I got our cute little first Christmas tree together. But we were kinda bummed since we went to 3 different stores and they're all sold out of Christmas tree stands. What will we do?
We also can't agree on whether to have a theme to our tree or have a mismatch craziness of whatever we're given or can make.

I, being a crafty chica, would like to string cranberries for a garland and make ornaments. I think my husband has other plans.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY till Christmas...Choir practice, last minute shopping, cleaning our house, wrapping presents, giving the dog a bath, knitting, etc...

However, I hope we have a little time for a tiny little get together....

It's crunch time! My fingers are knitting away...I still don't think I'm going to finish.

*Happy 29th anniversary to my parents last Sunday. Philip said that we "babysitted" Jayme for the weekend, but a 16 yr old young woman doesn't need to be "babysat". She spent the weekend with us and we had good times. I finally saw my brother on Friday night and it was good to be all together.
Jayme and I vegged on Saturday morning->afternoon->evening. Cable TV is fun, when you can string together movie, after movie, after movie...I finally peeled myself off the couch, took a shower, and started helping my husband move junk from our "junk room" to the basement. We now have a semi-organized basement(with enough room to use the treadmill) and an almost cleared out sitting room/office.

*FINALLY got to have a visit with Maxwell on Sunday night. We kept him up passed his bedtime. And he got put in his "jail" several times for getting into things. That's what baby boys and girls do...he's learning fast the things he's not supposed to get into though.

*We FINALLY hit the mall, thanks to the fact that we're "friends and family" of Alan R. and it was the last day to get that discount. Philip is an OK last minute shopper, but he has a tendancy to get the first thing he sees without looking around a little first. We found something that's
better than Barbie!

To Do:
We might get a tree tonight. Lynnea told us to go to Home Depot 'cause it's cheap and nice.
More knitting

Training for 2 days across the street from the SUPERMALL! It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The SUPERMALL is a fantastic place too. Now all we need to do is some toy shopping and lots of knitting.

Our 2nd attempt at seeing
Ocean's 11 was a success on Sunday. Fun day at the movies and downtown with most of the family. We always miss my brother, since he works on Sunday and he's not around much either...

I bought Pearl Harbor on DVD for my dad's Christmas gift, but he bought it already. So Phil and I added it to our collection.
It was very realistic, so much that I had to hide my eyes sometimes.

Our tile floor is complete! It is so beautiful! I'm so proud of Philip. He actually got me to help him last night. He smushed the grout in and I sponged it. Cooperation. Now all we have to do is a lot of clean up.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance day.

But more important it's Ambrocio Pendon's birthday.
Happy Birthday Lolo!

This year is the first year we celebrate without him. He passed away on February 20.

It wasn't easy to love him . He was critical and hard on people and more so on the people he loved. It always seemed from your own point of view, that you could never make him proud of you. But it was just the opposite. He had a way of pushing you to your limits and expecting the best out of you. It was justified in his mind, that since you came from him you should automatically be the best. So when you didn't live up to that expectation, it seemed to crash down on you and make you fell bad.

But I don't think that was ever my Lolo's intention to hurt anyone. He was proud of us and his heart was full of love for us. That's just the way he loved us...And that's the way I love him...Proud, critical, tough, headstrong, and stubborn.

My lolo and I had a special connection. He'd give me orders and I followed them to make him happy. And he'd talk to me about his life and about his opinions and I'd listen. I'd tell him my opinion and he'd listen most of the time. We understood eachother.

And now, I really miss him. So much that when I think of him at all my heart aches. The fact that all my grandparents are at God's side is comforting to me and has always been my reason for moving on. But with my Lolo Bosiong, the hurt is still there. Maybe because he was the last of them and I feel the loss of them all when think of him being gone. or maybe its that he loved life a lot. Although he was ready to die, he missed the life he once knew, dancing, walking, singing, partying.

The heart ache and occasional sobing for his loss, will be triggered by the strangest things too...The thought of his face...Passing the Beacon hill exit on the freeway...a song....

I was at Jojo & Maya's wedding enjoying Maya's dad's band. Then, they play a song. Philip looks at me and I'm full of tears. It's the wierdest song to cry while listening to, but it's my lolo's song. It reminds me of everything about him and it gets me everytime.

Help me celebrate Lolo Bosiong's birthday.
Listen to it for me...

I always find the wierdest things to watch on TV. I was learning Mandarin Chinese the other day in fact...

We watched a movie called Bongwater last night. An independent film...Phil wanted to change the channel. But I said, "Even if its wierd, I still want to watch it!" It was OK and
Jack Black was in it and sang a song about the woods smelling like shit and finding striped mushrooms. Wierdo Drug movie.

I've finished knitting 4 out of many Christmas presents. Currently, I'm knitting a sock and I've started on my second Harry Potter scarf. I get tired of one project and pick up the next.

My fingers are so busy, I couldn't even stop to make my husband chocolate chip cookies. I supervised him instead. He melted the butter instead of softening it, but they turned out really good anyway. His very first batch of chocolate chip cookies from scratch! I'm so proud!

I finally brought the
Michelle Branch CD to work with me and really getting to listen to it. I didn't think much of the CD as a whole when I first listened to it. Actually, I bought it because I liked the song "Everywhere". But, the second time around, I really like it. It's a good "at work" CD. Calm, but catchy.

When music is upbeat, I can't help but dance around. It's not too good to rock on at work...

This listen while you work ethic is a reminder that Phil & I should turn off the TV and turn on the tunes when we're working at home. When we redid the walls, hours flew by and we were busy as bees with the music on. But now that the TV is on, we always end up stopping and watching.

TV really sucks the life out of you sometimes. Watch out...

I made our Christmas gift list and now I'm overwhelmed. It makes me not even want to go shopping. I'm making all my gifts even if they're late...

Don't you love the new look!
I battled with blogger yesterday afternoon and then got it to work this morning. Archives are fun. Wierd reading my thoughts from over a year ago. Doesn't seem like that long ago. But really lots has happened between then and now.

Our new tile floor is coming along quite nicely. I stepped on one of the tiles before it set yesterday and now Phil has to put more grout down underneath. I feel bad...

We made burritos/soft tacos over at Gab's house with Daniela and Sofia. Daniela has grown so much in one month. She's less than 2 months old and she pretty much holds up her head. Gab used a good discipline technic on Sofia last night too. "If you don't listen to me, Santa is not going to bring you anything at all on Christmas!" She started listening right away, especially since her birthday is on Christmas too. Sofia is becoming a great big sister too, but just can't keep her hands off that baby. Daniela probably thinks, "What in the world is this girl doing to me?"

The Lord of the Rings is getting so good now. Exciting. I'm glad I'm almost done with the first part. I'll take a break from it when I finish Fellowship of the Ring and let Philip read it. I think I'm gonna hit
Oprah's booklist for some different kind of reading. Or I'll read other books that I've been wanting to read.

The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton - She also wrote The Buccaneers and Age of Innocence. Scandalous stories!

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein - I should go back and read it since it proceeds Lord of the Rings, just to know what all the creatures are and to familiarize myself with the history and land.

Did you make a wish list? Let me know if you did...I need gift ideas...email me!

Jarlo stopped by around noon on Saturday and caught Phil and I just starting our day. We're just the kind that sleep in. Nice little visit for us all. Jarlo impresses me how he's so on top of Christmas shopping already. I'm nowhere near in the mood to go to the mall...Maybe, I won't have to go at all!!!

Later we had another treat! Two weekends in a row, hanging out with my Kuya Joel and Cyncha! We all headed over to a birthday party for my uncle's wife's sister's boyfriend. 20/30 somethings eating filipino and indian food, drinking sangria and anything else from the liquer store and dancing to techno/indian/rock/drumbeats. Why do some hoochies like to freak on eachother? Isn't it more fun to freak on someone of the opposite sex? Just my preference I guess...

We left after the birthday guy woke up after passing out for the first time. Too stormy and rainy for us and drunk friends of friends of friends(strangers basically) aren't too much fun. More fun at home trying to talk to Cindy while she was sleeping.

In the morning, Phil convinced us all that we wanted Dim Sum. Then big MSG headaches and sleepiness for all of us. Us girls headed off to pick up some knitting supplies for Cyncha's new habit. Yay, I fellow knit-o-holic! The boys crashed at my dad's house in front of the football game. I hope my dad could hear the game over the snoring.

Despite my lazy evening, my husband finally laid some tiles. He looked real professional spreading that grout. Maybe by the time I get home, I'll have a tile floor in my hallway! Hooray!

Have you heard about
IT? Pretty cool, but what would you really use it for. I can imagine a future of even fatter people, cause no more walking...
Watch IT on the move
