We were also up late last night and caught No Doubt plays surprise concert in Carlsbad on MTV. It looked so awesome...Just think, if something like that happened to you in high school....
We saw Superflat @ the Henry Art Gallery. I liked most of it. But they have this pink room, with some very erotic art. I'm still not sure that cartoons and hard core porn belong together. Hard to appreciate the art, when I cringe at the subject matter. I suppose that's the exact reaction the artist wants...My favorite was the mural when you just walk in the exhibit and the series of snapshots of Japanese life. Pretty Cool...(philip said, "I wish Darv could see this, he'd like it")
Busy at Church on Sunday. Professing my support as Jayme's Confirmation sponsor and also Leading Children's Liturgy. Do you think 7th grade boys should leave church to attend children's liturgy? I think they're a little old for it...They're middle schoolers after all. What can I say, "Go back to church you're too old...?" No...God welcomes their attendence...
A 2 hour snowboarding trip turned into an overnight stay at Lake Kachess. Fun in the snow with isangmahalers and visitors from Chicago. Philip left them on the bunny slope to practice the basics, while we got our money's worth. It was so tempting to spend all of my sick leave holiday on the slopes again, but we had to drive people back and also feed our baby dog. Good thing, because he was all tangled up, walking around and around his doghouse.
I'm back at work and just plain tired...I wonder why?...
"I say, Well then, I'll talk and you listen: You can't run away from things, Siddalee. You've got to stay in this house where your life is. Don't you think I want to run off and hide in a bookmobile or join the circus? We all do. But we have responsibilities."
"I am her mother, though, and it is my job to teach her that you cannot escape from life. Life is not a book. You can't just set it down on the coffee table and walk away from it when it gets boring or you get tired."
See Lord of the Rings at the Cinerama - cool, the latest showing is @ midnight, that means it's over at 3 AM...ooo, maybe not a good idea...
Get the phoneline fixed so we have internet @ home
Visit Superflat @ the Henry Art Gallery - we're gonna edge-u-ma-kate ourselves in the arts (free tickets! free tickets! i got connections! free tickets!)
I ran into a classmate the other day. I always dread running into someone from high school, because I didn't much enjoy the people. There's always that moment you catch eachother's eye and decide whether or not to acknowledge eachother. It was easy in this case, cause he opened his arms and said, "GIAN!". That was pretty cool. Despite what you think, a few really great people are Chetters...namely, my brother, my sister, me, and a few others...
I heard My, My, My by Johnny Gill on the radio yesterday. What happened to him anyway?
I remember watching him perform My, My, My on Oprah. Wow! He made all the ladies in the audience melt. I remember watching at home and melting. I don't really think that Johnny Gill was the hottest guy at that time, it was just the way he sang that song.
Oprah had a program called Women Who Sing on last year. She featured India.Arie, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Mary Mary, and Yolanda Adams. I watched to see everyone listed accept Alicia Keys. Actually, I bought Alicia Keys CD, just because Oprah grouped her with all those amazing artists. I really think a lot of people fell for that too. Do you think she would be having all this success if Oprah hadn't invited her on that show? I only liked 2 songs on that cd...the one that they are playing out so much right now, and the prince song(I like prince's original better)...i think she's kinda ghetto....
One of these things is not like the others One of these things just doesn't belong Can you guess which thing is not like the others? ...
i just noticed the only cd we don't have at home is Mary Mary. I think that will be my next CD purchase...
We're still trying to get dad's new computer up. Soon, soon my computer will be home with us and we'll strip it all down and reload everything. It's a pain to fight with computers at work all day and then fight with them at home too. I can't wait till we have everything working and we'll just be able to play.
I was bad and stayed up late and mysteriously hit the off button instead of the snooze button. I hope I'm not back to my old ways.
The FINALLE! We'll be having a small Survivor Party(just us). The Japinoymerican Matsudaira rugrats will be joining us for a visit before they return to California.
Other stuff: I still haven't gone to see Lord of the Rings...we just haven't been in the mood to go to the movies. We're homebodies now.
Good News! I was going through my CD's last night and discovered I already own this one. I've seen him in concert twice at Chateau Ste Michelle. The last time, he was touring this very album. We went with the whole family and got there kinda late so we were way in the back, but I rented some binoculars and was able to see Harry's good looking face. I remember he went down in the audience and some lady kissed him and gave him some tongue. He was kinda grossed out. The the guy sitting next to us threw up from drinking two bottles of wine by himself. It was a fun night, despite that.
Jorge Colombo's Dailies have started up again new this year. I guess he took a break after Sept.11. Makes me feel good. Daily life in New York is getting back to normal.
I can't believe I actually watch it. I don't really like to, but I want to be together so I sit and watch and ask questions about the story line. Now I'm learning their stupid names and who's who's enemy. Yuck!
Before RAW, I enjoyed preparing a nice meal from my Chicken cookbook, that Darv gave us. Baked Chicken with vegetables and balsamic sauce. It was a good one...While it was in the oven I watched an intriguing show: "You think you know, but you have no idea..." The Diary of Britney Spears.
I wasn't comfortable enough to attend movie night at Jojo and Maya's in my pajamas, but I brought my knitting. Jojo tried to create surround sound on his system, but it didn't quite work. Stereo was good enough for me. We viewed Moulin Rouge again, and The Score. number one - everyone enjoyed, number two - almost put us to sleep. Who would have thought - Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton, Marlon Brando and Angela Basset would make a slow ass, boring movie.
Lazy, lazy Sunday for my husband and I. Forgot to set the alarm for 10 o'clock mass. Woke around noon, watched American Sweethearts on cable, ate breakfast/lunch that Philip cooked for us, took a long nap, got up to get ready, went to 7 o'clock mass, and a visit to my mom and dad and Jayme.
Prayers answered: Two who once were lost, are now found. Thank God. Time, love, patience... -g
