Good Friday

Plane crash in Elliot Bay...

Crazy stuff happend yesterday...There was a stand off with a bank robber within a mile of our house. Helicopters hovering above and lots of sirens. Doiji couln't help but howl back. At midnight, some more sirens, Phil went out and tried to keep Dioji from howling and waking up the neighbors, but he just couldn't help it. Howls started and stopped by Philip. The call of the wild was just too strong. Stace said those siren howls of Dioji's sounds like some scary Alien.

We attended Holy Thursday Mass and another year goes by without getting chosen to have our feet washed. Jayme and I were thinking about who's feet we would wash if we were picked. We decided on Eddie or George. Eddie cause he's a seventh grader and all around good kid and George cause he's always an alter boy and never gets his feet washed cause he's always helping.
Oh well, I had a hole in my sock anyway.

Matsudiara's met us after church, but Andrea and ConCon still so sick. Andrea could hardly keep her eyes open and Connor wasn't in the mood for fun. Only baby Marteen was in a playful mood. I think he had the most fun. Andrea said, "I'm gonna be sick everyday...":-(
Poor girl. I hope she gets better by tomorrow, so she can go Easter egg hunting.

Holy Wednesday

Fading...2 days out sick. Phil stayed home as my nurse on Monday, but all he serves for nourishment in peanut butter and
nutella sandwiches. Good stuff, but kinda sticky in a sore throat. Jade and Marteen came by on Monday night. Too bad the Double Dutch Bus Dueters were sick. What a way to spend a vacation...sick at papa bob's and not able to come over to visit their long lost brother Dioji or their favorite ninang and uncle Philip. We had lots of fun with Marteen though. He got attached to his Uncle and didn't want to go back to Papa Bob's. Good for Jade, to venture to Bremerton so Lolo Lito and Lola Tessie could visit with Marteen at least. She's not about to go and waste her vacation.

Slept all day without my nurse around. Now I'm back at work and fighting to keep my eyes open. Only 3.5 hours to go...

Belated goodbye to Darvin and Stacy. I missed your bon voyage, cause I think I was sick. It was fun to see you and I'm excited for when you come back here. Maybe we'll have another reunion in Fresno!

Very Crude, but who cares? It's funny...

Stayed up late again watching deleted scenes from the movie. Kevin Smith sure knows how to make a good DVD. Lots of extra stuff!

Wednesday Family Dinner:
Legendary Jambalaya modified by me!
Northern style Cornbread by mom!
Steamed artichoke with melted butter by dad!
Taro bread baked in bread machine by jayme!

Too bad Jussy and Moe were late. no artichoke leaves left for them, only one serving of cornbread and jambalaya. They got to take left overs home though...

Survivors is getting good! I wish they'd show them eating and cooking more. Some of those people are just plain ass lazy. How in the world can he be pushed to slave labor again, when he wasn't even working. Everytime he sees the other people working he thinks they're trying to be his Master. Empower yourself and don't live in your own oppression. Get over it already!

Good news: Darb and Stace coming to visit, as well as the Matsudiara rugrats! I'm so excited!

Got into work around 6 AM yesterday, just so I could leave early to take my car to have a check up. I think she liked it. VROOM! VROOM! Power once again!

Jaym and I both didn't feel like swimming, so I walked for 1/2 an hour on the treadmill listening to
40 oz to Freedom. SKA Walking! - the hottest new workout!

(Random thought warning: You think Dioji can walk w/ me on the treadmill?...Bad idea, I guess, just like that bad idea to go roller blading w/ him...Don't worry, I never tried it.)

After my walk, I asked Philip if he wanted to venture out for Isangmahal 5th Anniversary Show. For old times sake. Really, it's been about 2 years. It was nice to hear the "old timers" and watch Lisa & Dianne dance, but it was refreshing to listen to new stuff from new faces.

Phil and I have been observers from the very beginning at the very first show at the Nipon Kan theater. It was cool to see the contrast of then and now - people growing and changin, physically, mentally, emotionally. Cool to watch and hear the band evolve from talented high schoolers, to damn talented and now refined. The only thing is that we can't relate to the crowd too much anymore. Youngsters...

- - Sad that I looked at my watch around 10 pm and mouthed to Philip, "REAL WORLD" and he responded back with a lets hurry home look - - We SO needed to spend a night away from the TV...

Don't worry we didn't rush home...It was a pretty late night for us and I'm paying for it today, trying not to nod off at work...

Thank God: Jussy is OK, after getting rear ended on I-5. Poor old 2 toned Toyota Corolla, she probablly won't make it...

Today we have some really bad links:

Coming out of the funk...

I dreamt of someone I haven't heard from in awhile last night. I think it means that I still care...

Family dinner at mom's last night. Nothing formal, but we sat and ate around the table. We watched Survivor and explained to Moe who all those famous from the past boxers were. Vanilla Ice got his butt kicked by Willis! Mom was laughing at Paula Jones and Tonya Harding. Tonya Harding punched better than Vanilla-Ice did!

Distractions:
Jayme discovered
Shockwave Collapse

And then I found Shockwave Bounce Out...

maybe this is why I haven't been knitting...

I still want to go on vacation.

Somedays it just doesn't work out...been a little frustrated lately and can't really pinpoint what's causing it.
I'd love to live a perfect martha stewart life...enough time and energy to exercise; perfect healthy food in the fridge everytime you open it; work that is interesting, energizing, and challenging; a clean home and yard.

My life seems to consists of too many things to do and not enough time or energy to accomplish them. It's been quite draining. Another event to attend on the weekend, no time to stay at home to relax and organize. I keep telling Philip, we need more sleep. I don't think he think he needs more, but why does he doze off after work?(during our time together)

I think I'm in a funk...

I say it but do I mean it? We stayed up agian and watched some captivating educational shows on MTV.

The Real World, Chicago

The Osbornes

Cool links:

One hundred crazy panels - Have you ever played that never-ending story game, where someone tells a story, then the next person takes over, then on and on?

whatsherface - dolls that your can color in their faces and put on different wigs. I should get one to reflect the mood I'm in each day...

necoro - the very real robot cat from japan. Like a real cat, but no poop!

Not much to write about lately...

Roads were iced over on Friday so I took a snowday. I'm becoming a big vegetable. No energy at all lately. The roads defrosted and we adventured out to International District to shop for our rescheduled Friday Family dinner. Seafood Pasta of course. Only thing is that Jussy didn't show. So, now I haven't seen him for 2 weeks.

Met up at Dilatante, with jojo "the chocoholic" gaon, fel, and antone. We haven't seen them FOREVER...Good to sit and talk and sip my peppermint tea. Subject most covered was memorable car accidents.

Saturday...Dump duty! Philip and I are experts at dumping junk at the city dump. NO METAL and NO HAZARDOUS WASTE. One oversized mixed load of junk transported from our temporary dump(our yard) to the official city dump. Only thing is that no hazardous waste was accepted at the North Seattle site. We ended up visiting two different city dumps, stopping off the religious items store in between, them eating a satisfying breakfast/lunch at Kaui Family Restaurant. Ginger Chicken and Laulau. mmmmmmm....
Later, on to Bremerton for a wedding reception at the Elks club. Antone's mom wants us to find him a cute, sweet and SMALL girl for him and arrange things through her. Why small? "Cause he's not to big..."

Sunday...Children's liturgy taught by Kiku, Jayme and myself. Chubby little bratty ricky, locked himself in the bathroom during a 1/4 of the liturgy. Wasn't sure if he was taking a shit or playing his gameboy or both at the same time. Knocked on the door and reminded him to come out. Another little girl raised her hand while sucking the thumb of her other hand all during the Gospel Reading. When it was done, I asked her if she had a question. She answered practically in tears..."I want to go back to my mom and dad!" in a whiney baby voice. She was like eight years old! Bless them anyway...

Daniela Trujillo Austin was baptized after mass. She loved the water...she wanted to go back in for a longer swim. Then she kept trying to eat Fr. Paul's hands. He didn't seem to want her to do that...I think he thought his hands were dirty...Later, went to Gab and Djan's for an after baptism feast. Ribs, Chicken, and hot links from Otis's OK Coralle. Beans, Rice, chili, tortillas, guacamole, from the Trujillo family. So many babies there...

Then we crashed into our food commas and watched Six Feet Under on HBO.

Today...I'm at work, and about to go home!!!

So Dioji caught himself an opossum last night...I was getting ready for bed and heard thumping around in the backyard, so I sent Philip out there to invesitgate. I heard Philip talking to the dog and then when he came inside he said, "Sick!" and he was pretty grossed out. Dioji had left the 'possum right in front of the back door just for his master to find. It was bigger than a cat, with a dead grin on it's face. And it stunk. I asked Philip if he was sure it was dead, because I wasn't about to go out there even if it was a little alive. Then Dioji bit into it again and shook it around. We heard more bones crunch. GROSS!!! Yup, it was dead alright. The hardest part was trying to take it away from Dioji. He was so proud of his kill and wanted us to praise him, but we were out there all grossed out. Yuck...Exciting stuff...

For your information: If you find something dead in your yard and it is under 15 lbs then you can scoop it up in a trash bag and put it in your garbage pickup. But if it is over 15 lbs, you must call Animal Control to come get it from you. Yup, I think that 'possum was just about 15 lbs.

We spent Saturday finally cleaning up our yard. If you were to come over, you might drive right past our house, cause you wouldn't recognize it. We still have some weeds to pop out of the lawy, spray moss-be-gone, mulch the flower bedn so it's ready to plant in and dig out some old roots. We'll wait till after the yard waste is collected and then start again. Then comes the backyard and that's a whole different story...Dioji's territory, and temporary junkyard. Dum Da Dum Da Dum!!!!

Nuthin much happening lately. We're planning to do yard work this weekend and it should be quite a job.

I think I'm really going to enjoy
Survivor. This time around. The people will surely not be starving this time around. Marquesas has so many resources and lots of ways to get food. I told Philip we would have been good at this one. Too bad we didn't make him a video tape audition.

Lotsa knitting links: These are actually for myself to retrieve later. I will never buy a pattern again. I love free patterns form the internet

knitnet: Free patterns and stitches

rebecca: online knitting magazine and free patterns. Very modern and trendy. Not your grandma's knitting

Adriafil's Magazine: Knitting designs from Italy
