So, Phil and I went shopping. He said it was OK if I spent way too much on myself. Next time, I'll OK it for him to spend way too much on himself.

It will make me feel pretty, if just for one day

Two thumbs up!
I want a Lilo Hula Bobbler for my dashboard. Now I have to go to Mc DOH!

Lilo's attitude reminds me so much of Andrea. I kept laughing thinking about it...

You Grow Girl

My first link to yet another new hobby. Philip and I cleaned out our flower bed, added new soil, and planted some little plants and put seeds in the ground. He mowed the lawn and is attempting to spray away the weeds. We're gonna build a wall, and plant more flowers. We have to take some more trips to the dump to get rid of the lingering junk living in our yard.
...Baby steps...

Future projects:
New patio in the back for outside entertianing.
New floorboards for the deck
Cleaned out and running Hot Tub (maybe with a gazebo for privacy)
Dog Run and Shelter for Dioji...
A beautiful Garden in the upper back yard

I miss Jayme already...I wish she packed me in her suitcase

I miss Connor too..."Can I come to your house? When are you gonna visit me?", but in con-con speak. I told him to ask his Uhn-kul OOOBOOOT(philip).

Thanks to Darv's visit and overnight stay. We have a clean guestroom/computer room and a mowed backyard and front yard. Our home is more liveable when we have visitors! A clean house makes me happy. Too bad I'm to lazy to initiate cleaning everyday. Sometimes I wish, I had that anal neatfreak disease. But no I'm a survivor...I can live in filth, just for the sake of relaxing.

Great weekend starting in 3 hours. I can feel it...

80's Pop Revamped...
We were watching
on cable last night. Definitely not Oscar material, but entertaining enough.

I told Philip, "I bet the soundtrack is good."

So I headed over to Listen to samples from the soundtrack. Just as I thought...

Tainted Love - Marilyn Manson
99 Red Balloons - Goldfinger
I Melt With You - Mest
Bizarre Love Triangle - Stabbing Westward
If You Leave - Good Charlotte
Blue Monday - Orgy

...to name a few. 80's music you can actually ROCK ON! No need for the Molly Ringwald(Breakfast Club)/Carlton dance. Head Banging is all you need. Just kicking the music up a notch. Compare, for instance, the original Come on Eileen - Dexys Midnight Runners to the revamped Come on Eileen - Save Ferris. Which one can you listen to and really feel?

I want it...

My husband, the hero
The smell was pretty much unbearable when we got home from work yesterday. It smelled of decay and air freshner. We went out and bought us a air purifier , a returned one at a good buy too.

We stayed out as long as we could, but finally returned home to face the foul smell. I plugged in our investment and ran it full blast. I lit candles and I sat down and covered my nose.

Philip suited up: Coveralls from head to toe, a respirator, pair of garden gloves, a pair of rubber gloves, his old sneakers, a big plastic bag and a flashlight. He looked like one of those alien recovery guys from ET. . (I tried taking a picture, but he wouldn't let me.) So down in the basement he goes...

He emerges minutes later, with his prize. A RAT, about a foot long, with a healthy grey coat, but dead and rotting on the inside! I guess those STICKY RAT TRAPS have a little bit of rat poison on them to lure the RAT. On the trap Philip put down there, the poison was gone and there were foot prints in the STICKY TRAP...

The smell is still lingering a little this morning, but most of it is gone. If it wasn't for my brave husband, we would have had to live in STINK for weeks and weeks. I'm so grateful and proud!

Simplicity...
I learned today at work that the most complicated situation can be broken up in simple easy to digest sections. If you start at the beginning and examine the very first step it's simple. The key is to keep it simple even when you're adding more with each level. I was key to this process since I didn't have the knowledge to think on the complex level. They had to break it down for me. In this case it was a good thing to ask "stupid" questions.

So I wonder if we can apply this to our lives? Will it be easier to manage a To Do list for life and examine each item individually? I've tried to explain, to some people that their life would be easier if they did this. However, some people feel that they need to figure this out for themselves and follow their own, often confused, path. All I can do is be available for them and stand back and pray.

Faith talks about the simple life...she moved from New York City to a small town for simplicity. Is she wondering now, if she can balance the best of both worlds?

Other Stuff...
Bon Voyage to my sister Jayme. 2 weeks in Europe without her family. Have fun and be safe! We'll miss you!

Megnut wrote a good article Defining Weblogs from an insider point of view

harrumph: Why do dogs roll in smelly things?

And speaking of smelly things...Something very foul is decaying in our crawl space and is stinking up our house! I thought it was something in the kitchen and I was smelling around and trying to clean up or throw away the origin of the smell. I couldn't figure it out. So Philip says, "Oh, maybe I better check the (RAT) trap I put in the basement!" He emerges from the basement with a look of disgust. Nothing in the trap, but definitely something dead underneath the house. Everytime I catch a wiff of it, I blow out through my nose and make a HHHHMMMPPH sound. :-Q GAG!!!

BradPuet posted all about the HAT day yesterday. I always enjoy the evenings after a HAT day. Last night, it reminded me of simpler times too. Hanging out with the guys and staying out late even though there's work the next day, (The only person missing was Richie)...basketball at dusk w/ Jussy and Ryan on Sunnyside...playing in the yard in Spanaway with all the cousins(me and the boys again) until it was too dark to see.

We went down to Greenlake in a mob yesterday too. Maxwell and Lynnea got to meet Dioji. Max wanted to share his milk with him, but Lei and Jojo ended up sharing their bottled water anyway. I guess they couldn't resist that begging look Dioji gave them.

Again I reminisce about summers at Greenlake..."picnics" organized by the Edmonds/Woodway/Roosevelt/Blanchet mob...going to the basketball court to watch Djan play...Further back, taking Justin, Jayme and Marissa to the playground to play during summer break and playing in our favorite tree...Summer swim team at Evans pool...swimming in Greenlake with Amie and trying to pass the test to go out to the diving platform, then coming home all itchy and Amie's hair all green with algae. (No one believes we swam in that guck...)

I have a feeling THIS summer will be one to remember too...

My list of Friends' Blogs to the left is growing. They're migrating from
asianavenue to livejournal. Seems that there's peer pressure for me to migrate too (second post down, too bad there's no hyperlink to the actual post. minus one point for live journal :-P )

I just spent too much time getting blogger to do all this for me to bail on g's random notes. Plus then I'd have to e-mail everyone that I moved.

I'm a dork...I saw some people I haven't seen in years at the wedding we attended 2 weeks ago. To keep in touch, I exchanged e-mail addresses with them and also gave them my blog address. Dorky huh?

It's sad that this is the way to keep in touch now. It's easier than inviting everyone over to our mess and cook for them. Plus they might accidently find hair in the food I cook.(Sorry Rosque, I felt so bad. I always tie my hair back now!) Are we becoming hermits?!?!

At least we got ourselves on the telephone the last few nights. Good to hear how Ray was doing in Vegas. Plus he gave Philip some pointers on verility. Yikes!! And I almost mistook Darv for Andrea, but he didn't have her attitude down yet. "Hi Ninang, It's ANNN-DREEA!" She usally says, "This is Andrea speaking, who am I speaking to?" Darv said that I was scared watching The Others because I'm a girl...

My first time out boating on Sunday afternoon. Pretty great actually...
Time flew by. One hour was actually four hours. The guys went out on the innertube and held on for dear life. We put Philip's monster grip to the test and he passed. I was afraid for a little of seeing my husband getting flung into a passing boat.
But he eased my worrys like he always does with his big smile. He made being flung around at 20 mph look like big fun.
After the body bruising of the innertube, we all decided it was time for rest. We sunned and slept while being rocked by the waves.

I'm looking forward to next time already. Thanks for inviting us Nap and Em and Almin!

Do you believe in MAGIC?
Philip bought us
Harry Potter...So wee into the night after watching the movie, I solved the whole puzzle on the DVD just so I could watch the deleted scenes. I became a witch doing magic, just like little Hermione Granger. That night, I dreamt of magic all night long...

new daily blog
...added to my read list. caternina.net...she's a lovely writter.

We attended the first wedding of the season on Saturday. The priest told the couple getting married, that they should treat and love their spouse as God would them.

It was a good reminder to us about our commitment and how we should treat eachother. I suppose God would never bicker over which TV show to watch or scold you for leaving the lights on all day or nag you about mowing the lawn.
We spent the rest of the day loving and treating eachother the ideal way. We tend to get caught up with daily life and take for granted why we live. Hopefully this week's reminder will put us on our best behaviour for awhile. I feel renewed and refreshed and able to enjoy our life together everyday. Reminders are good...

I can't believe we've been married almost a year. I think we've done pretty well so far. We're living our life together...

I'll never not like any of them...Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi were the greatest while we were growing up. So we have to find out what happened before the three. Go see it...you know you'll like it.
