Week 35, 5 weeks to go... The Dr. says the pain in my butt was a pinched sciatic nerve. A heat pad and a deep massage did the trick. I'm now supposed to sleep with my legs stretched out straight. No fetal position....
Weekend Update Friday Night: Vegetarian Thai food w/ Jayme, mom and dad. I had some black rice pudding too... Saturday: Busy day. Awoke early, to catch ferry and arrive before noon in B-town @ the Fresh Foody Buffet for our 2nd Baby shower. We waited for Junne to speed up from Dupont first. In B-town, Fresh Foody was OK. All you can eat soft serve ice cream is always a nice touch. The kid got lots and lots of clothes and his first stuffed animal too. It's one that will scare Darv too! After the shower, shopping at Sari Sari Store. Got back to Seattle w/ enough time to spend the evening up @ fel & janet's mixer. We think fel makes a mean steak marinade. I guess the secret ingredients are Yoshida's and Blonde Ale. At home later, we watched our wedding video with Junne till 2am. Sunday: Mass, Lunch @ Kona Kitchen: w/ still frozen hash browns, that turned into a free meal for me...Trip w/ the girls(mom, a. mimi, junne) to the bead store, who wouldn't even let a very pregnant woman use their non public bathroom. Junne and I had to walk to Whole Foods before my bladder exploded. She's crazy over ginger candy, and little munchies, like dried mango and cranberries. Later, we headed out to Dupont to give the girl some furniture. She was sleeping on the floor in front of the fire place with throw pillows and afghans. She made out like a bandit too...Futon frame and mattress; small, newly slip covered, wicker couch, our old orange ratan chair, a butcher block table for her dining room, and a desk...She thinks that her aunts are doing too much for her, but I told her...."Why buy other peoples junk from Good Will, when you can get free junk from your aunties?" We arranged her home for her, and mom told her to put her clothes in the bedroom instead of the living room floor. Next we stopped in @ A. Julie's and had a nice meal and a visit. I got to show A. Julie all my stretch marks too. Philip drove home in the rainstorm while I slept. Asking him once in awhile, "Are you OK?"
34 Weeks and my butt hurts like hell! I have this shooting pain in my right butt cheek. Sometimes right in the middle of the muscle and sometimes up on my back, but it shoots down all the way to my toes. It's pretty hard to walk. I called the nurse today to ask her about it. She said to wait till my appt on Thursday and ask the Dr. Dr. might refer me to Physical Therapy. Which is OK by me, if the pain goes away.
Weekend was great, we took Junne down to Pike Place and looked around, then watched movies and ate steak prepared by my personal chef and husband.
I had trouble sleeping last night thinking of troubling stuff and praying for someone who's all mixed up. Question? When you've said outloud, straight to the person's face. "Family is first, I love you no matter what, and am here for you whenever you need me." Basically telling that person that you love them unconditionally and they're reaction is not to believe you...What does that mean and how are you supposed to react?
My answer: That person doesn't feel the same unconditional love for you and that's why they can't accept it. It hurts, but you'll still love them no matter what.
I pray that soon, you'll find your way...but it's been a year and your thinking is still demented and very cloudy. Although you think you're the happiest you've ever been, it's a facade. Because everytime I see you, you don't look happy at all.
Week 33, only 7 to go! Yikes. I told Philip, "If I sound like I'm nagging you, it is nagging, but I have a good reason...I'm nesting." Dirty Dishes in the sink, unswept floor, unfinished nursury, cluttered paper...It all makes me cringe. We've gotta get stuff ready for our baby boy, who could really come anyday now...
Weekend Update: 1st of the baby showers on Saturday. Mom's house, my family, family friends, friends from church...We tried to keep this one as small as possible. There's not too much room in Mom's house, especially when ALL the fam comes over. Uncle Joey and Tina brought me a great surprise though...My Cousin Junne arrived on Friday night and showed up at the shower. She'll be stationed at Fort Lewis till she get out and then possibly longer than that. You see we're only 2 months apart in age, but over the years have been separated first by Oceans(they were stationed in Germany), then by states(lived in New Mexico). Seems like we've waited to live in the same place forever. I'm excited by the possibilities now...I'm so glad you're home JUNNE! (I hope it will feel like home so you'll want to stick around)
So baby Jon Philip got a load of stuff. I think we're actually ready now. Diapers, clothes, washclothes, baby toiletries, bathtub, toys, stroller....Wow, you're already loved so much, even before you're born!
Next is the B-town Baby shower. I hope the games aren't as nasty as the ones we had for my B-town bridal shower.(That was so embarassing) Picture it: a pencil on a string tied around your waste...Object: w/out hands, get the pencil to fit inside the mouth of a bottle placed on the floor between your legs. Yikes!
Introducing Audio Blogger! Basically you get the urge to blog, but aren't in front of a computer. So you call on your cell and record a message that's automatically posted on your blog for the world to hear via MP3.
I wonder if they're gonna add that one to LJ, you'd get to enjoy messages similar to the ones left on our answering machine by jojo and darv. Strange...Phil won't let me erase them, because he wants to figure out a way to download them, then make a CD or something...
"DEE-ANN thees ees AHNKLE DANIEL" "SUMMA-TIME! SUMMA-TIME! YOU WANNA RACE?!"
I've also been into recipes lately. When Jarlo invited us over for dinner, he always got this Broccoli Salad. Since he got it from the store, he had no recipe for it. But, one of my junk e-mails surprisingly contained this one(and unlike the kind Jarlo used to get, no onions called for. I used to eat around them or spit them out):
Yummy Recipe for Broccoli Salad
1 bunch fresh broccoli 1/2 cup raisins 1/4 cup unsalted sunflower seeds 1/2 cup light mayonnaise 1/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1.In a medium size bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar. 2.Cut broccoli tops into bite size pieces 3.Add to mixture and stir well. 4.Add raisins and sunflower seeds and mix well 5.Serve cold.
Maybe we can make it tonight for family dinner night @ mom's
Me and baby are doing great actually. The doctora said, I don't really have to gain anymore weight(since I was already heavy) and I'm doing great with my blood sugars. Unlike the dietitian, she said it's OK for my body to burn a little fat. Actually, my body knows exactly what to do to feed my baby boy. Doctora also said that he's a good baby with his head pointing down already, he's in a great position to come out. He must be ready to be born, just like I'm ready for him to be born!
Despite being "sick" yesterday, we accomplished alot. I finally got the oil changed in my car; we test drove a Highlander and told the salesguy, we can't really buy a car until August since we'll only have one income; Stocked our fridge and cupboards with healthy snacks; AND after 3 trips to Home Depot, we have a new tank on our toilet upstairs.(All Phil has to do is hook up the water line!) Yeah! No more trips all the way downstairs to go pee in the middle of the night.
31 weeks, 9 weeks to go! I'm getting used to this whole blood testing thing. The problem is that if I skip a snack or don't eat enough carbs my keytone levels are too high. I guess that MIGHT cause the baby to have a low IQ. It's all so confusing sometimes... I think baby boy is doing great though. He kicks me pretty good now...
Weekend Update Friday: Girls night! Scarfed our dinner at Red Robin, because we had to tired kids with us and needed to catch our movie. Then How to loose a guy in 10 days. Matthew McConahay might be weird in his personal life, but on screen he is pretty hot! Had to call my husband home @ 12:30am. "I'm home now and you're not...You better come home." He came home like a good husband, while the other wives were waiting for their husbands till 8am.
Saturday: Galen & Raneth's Wedding. It was alot of fun. I wonder if you can classify a fun wedding w/ an open bar. The UW FSA crew together again...and nothing's changed when they can indulge themselves. The DJ played us a medly of early 90's hip hop. I felt like we were back at the WAC at the FSA/CSA Halloween Dance in '92

l's pics We went home around 10:30pm. I soaked my feet and fell so far asleep on the couch that Philip had to peel me off it...
Sunday: I was sore and tired from my shoes and a little dancing the night before...Mass, Dim Sum, visit to B-Town. Home kinda early on the 6:20pm ferry. We watched Reign of Fire
