Whirlwind of fun
The weekend was great, but I'm suffering today...
Ray was our house guest all weekend, even if we weren't the most attentive hosts...We kinda just let him do his own thing and he let us do ours...
JonP liked having his Ninong Ray around, I think.

Friday night we had a belated birthday celebration for me with Gab, Djan & Amie. Caribean Food was Oh So Good! Good times, with my oldest and bestest friends. We talked boob talk in front of the guys(who should be used to it by now) We all participated in some poop conversation also...I don't know how we get on these subjects, but you know it's good intriging conversation when those subjects come up. After dinner, we went to meet Ray and the rest of the B-Town Barkada @ Vesper lounge. These little kids yelled at me at the door and demanded I pay $7 cover to enter an empty place, where my friends were DJ'ing for free. Luckily, someone came over and gave the, "Their with the (FREE) DJ's." speech. It was a pretty boring time...I just wanted to get back to JonP...

On Saturday, Mom & Dad Orquia came over early to have lots of time with JonP. I handed him over, and they fed him his oatmeal while I cooked breakfast. I was Mom & Dad's driver for the day. Since we caravaned it down south to Renton, then Tacoma for
Mike & Aileen's wedding. The whole day was a blast! JonP had his very own place card and a high chair and a stuffed bear give away. They had a hawaiian band, and a dj, and most fun of all they rented a Photo booth. You were supposed to give the couple 2 pictures and keep 2 for yourself. Fun! Congratulations to the couple, who will be relaxing in Tahiti for 10 days...

On Sunday, I went early to church to teach First Communion Class. Philip, Ray and JonP joined us at the 10AM mass. We had to leave straight from church to drop Ray off at SeaTac. Then we visited at Jojo & Jahno's house and Philip terrified all of us all by knocking down wasp nests hanging all along the back of the house. Philip, JonP and I headed to Uwajimaya for a late lunch. JonP ate almost a whole humbow by himself...We picked up My Neighbor Totoro as a get well soon gift for Maxwell, then set out to deliver it. We all met up at Glenn & Lynnea's to visit Maxwell, JonP was feeling pretty brave trying to chase Maxwell around. When Fel arrived, he had the magic touch...He let JonP go and he walked the farthest he's ever walked. By the end of the night he was walking across the room! He'll soon be able to catch up with Max!

I've been wishing for some time to pamper myself...I've been meaning to make an appt. for a Spa Facial and a new (hair)cut, but haven't had time to make either appointment.
This morning I treated myself to a miny spa by using one of those
Biore nose strips. My nose feels all smooth and clean now. After you painfully pull that thing off your nose, you can't help but examine the porrcupine strip of all that dirt and yuck pulled out of your pores...I know you've done it too, don't even deny it!

2 weddings in 2 weekends...

In May, my plans are to get my husband and myself going on our out of control house. It's gonna be a combination of Trading Spaces/Clean Sweep/In A Fix/Rally Round the House. Yup, it's true our house needs that much work from the inside out...the only thing different from all those shows is we have to pay for everything ourselves AND the crew will probably just consist of the two of us.

Immediate "TO DO" List:
Wash the dishes (sorry to our house guest Ray, we haven't washed our dishes since he's arrived...I WANT A DISH WASHER!!!)

Repaint the Dining Room and the Living Room with livelier colors, before we put in the new floors. I want to match this west elm pillow.

Purchase and install our new bamboo floor. Once it's in I think my spirits and sanity will return and we'll gain some serious momentem.

30 years of life...
So I'm 30 years +1 day old today...
I started my special day by telling JonP that his mama is old and needs to sleep in a little longer. I turned on Zabomafoo for him and rolled over and snoozed a little bit longer.
Philip & I had a nice french birthday dinner planned for the evening. He used an online reservation service to book a table. It was sad that when we walked up to the door of the restaurant it was dark inside and the sign said "closed on Mondays"...
No worries, we got a table at Ray's Boathouse an hour later. We went back and fed JonP his dinner and then left for our nice dinner on the water.

Did you know that sablefish is the new name for black cod?

Thank you to my family and friends for birthday love. Jayme got me
Stitch'n Bitch, mom & dad got me a cute green top and a new wallet, and a. mimi got me a cute new purse.

Philip got me my ipod last month, I still love it...

More celebrations later this week. birthday dinners, sinigang, confirmations and another wedding...

Rejoice!
things are starting to settle down again...
The last 2 months have felt like such a whirlwind. I think life is starting to return to normal.

We celebrated Holy Week by attending mass for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil Saturday night.
All were pretty special...Mom was picked to get her feet washed...We all went up as a family to hold the cross while people were venerating it. JonP even touched the cross while I kissed it, he looked like he was paying his respects too...There was only one person baptized at the Easter Vigil and it felt so special and intimate. We all gathered around the baptismal font and it was like we were welcoming him into our family.

On Easter Sunday we celebrated with the FAM. Easter/JonP's 1st b-day party. I organized a little egg hunt for the kids. I made them line up by height and age. (the youngest was JonP(1) and the oldest was Jayme(19)). Then I made them do a little relay race where they held a spoon in their mouths and balanced the eggs on the end. They were all big cheaters, but it was great fun.

I'm looking forward to some quiet weekends where Phil and I can get some housework done. My yard may be a ghetto mess, but my tulips bloomed and it makes the house look like a cute ghetto house. ;-)

Im going to Wichita
Far from this opera for evermore
Im gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore

...but only for 2 days...
It's pretty flat here. That's all I have to say...

I miss my boys already...

JonP had his first birthday on Sunday.
He doesn't know that birthday cake tastes good yet.
He plays cars and does a vroom sound or sticks his tongue out and does Raspberries.
We think he says "NaNa" for banana.
He knows how to shoot baskets.
He got his first haircut and looks like a big boy.
I got sad when I cut his curls off his head.

I shall return.
