Parties, Simbang Gabi, Santa, and finally a tree... We tag teamed with mom & dad on Friday night. They went to an early movie while we finished up our shopping. Then JonP spent the night, while we attended Urbal Essence, just to see off the Vida's to SoCal. Too bad, Stace didn't just tell me to bring my knitting over to their place for a PJ party. Good thing though, got to finally see Jojo and Fel.
We slept through our alarm and didn't get to drop off our old couch set at St. Vincent De Paul. Picked Mom and JonP up, then got Jayme from the ferry and headed down to Spanaway for Amy's 13th birthday bowling party. My worst game 55 pts, my best game 98pts(Philip bowled one X for me on this one). JonP won a little Grover from the "claw" machine with his look and charm. (The lady refilling the machine, gave him one, after we asked her if we could just buy one.) In the evening, we drove up to Canada for our gag gift party at the Pajimula's. We got Jojo good. He was trying to get Philip with this big blowup TT, but the pregnant mama got it instead.(shame jo!) Then I cornered, Jo with the exchange on the Pimp kit. He loved it though. Janet made this killer asian chex mix and some chocolate tollhouse cookies from scratch. I finally got to see their wedding ceremony. Beautiful. They were both embrassed by their pouring of emotions, but I thought it was wonderful. JonP thinks that all dog beds are out just for him to roll in. He and Max played Power Ranger and tortured Tyson, the dog.
On Saturday, we slept in, then headed to UW FSA alumni Christmas Party. Goodtimes with kids running all over the place. JonP tries to place nice, but Caleb was in a naughty mood, cause when he and Gabriel get together there's 2 times the trouble. Phil and I were upset that we had to leave early to set up the church for Simbang Gabi. God sure took care of things for our Simbang Gabi at St. Ben's. It was beautiful and a good celebration for our little filipino church community. Too bad JonP used the "Crying Room" true to its name. His daddy, had enough of him for the night and it took awhile for him to forgive JonP. Poor daddy and Poor baba!
Philip had a productive sick day, yesterday. A 3 hour wait to see stupid Santa downtown was just not worth it. So across the lake to Bellevue Square, where we were snuck in. JonP smiled at Santa, but arched his back a couple times when put in his lap. We got two good shots, but no smile this year. Justin came over later to help take the old couches to St. Vincent de Paul. JonP and I reorganized his toys.(Actually, I'd put them away in their new place and JonP would take it out to play with again). We got an expensive crooked tree from the boyscouts and ate a very late dinner.
I think we're finally catching up. JonP's cousins should be in town today. I'm excited!

Yum! Brown Buttered Brussels Sprouts - megnut.com It's similar to the recipe on the package of frozen brussel sprouts, which I love because they're all petite and ready to cook. I add toasted almonds... I never thought I'd eat or like brussel sprouts, but I do.

Getting Ready... Christmas is really sneaking up on me this year. I say this every year...I should've started knitting earlier... The thing of it is, I was knitting earlier, just not for Christmas gifts. and all those finished items have been given away already.
I wish there were a way to knit and hug JonP at the same time. He loves to get tangled up in my yarn. He'll wrap it around himself (sometimes around his neck too, YIKES!) and start walking across the room.
We were productive on Sunday and cooked us up some gifts. My mom is awesome! Canning and Perserving is awsome too. Mom is afraid of the boiling water still, so my husband and I did that part.
...lots to do and not enough time to do it! It shouldn't be this way, really.

Link of the day Handmade stuffed elephants: A Month of Softies by loobylu
Philip and I visited the local japenese hobby store, while we were waiting for our Tony Roma's take out to get cooked up. The daddy is reliving his childhood through his son, now. He bought JonP a Kikaida action figure. (I guess it's like the original Power Rangers from the 70's, but only shown in Hawaii. Me being a Washingtonian, do not know about Kikaida...)
JonP thinks that Kikaida is just great. He had him attacking his Lilo figurine. He even brought it with him to Lola's house this morning. I guess it's his new buddy...

Here's the one that JonP has Kamen Rider:
