Glossary of Paperweight Terms

Handcooler   A solid or hollow blown eggshaped glass object; once a common accessory for ladies.
 
Hobnail   A set of V-shaped grooves cut into the base of a paperweight at right angles to each other, forming a grid pattern.
 
Hollow weight   A blown weight with a central hollow air bubble surrounded by glass.  Used in crown weights and to encase lampwork figures.
 
Honeycombe cane Baccarat
 
A type of millefiori rod, the cross section of which resembles the cell pattern of a honeycomb.
