The Long-Awaited Kitty Page!

Last year, our daughter achieved her life dream: She acquired a Kitten! He was an infant with his eyes barely open, which she got on Halloween. This fact, along with his pumpkin-orange colour has earned for him the name Jack-O, as in 'lantern', not 'Kennedy-Onasis', or 'Jackson'. He's a sweet little thing, full of hell, and a fitting addition to the menagarie, if we can just convince the Large Stupid One (Captain) that he is NOT a toy, nor is he a snack! (Scenario: Mom holding Kitten, Dad holding Captain's collar. Captain looks interested, then his expression changes to one of wonderment. "A WHOLE kitten? For ME????", he seems to say...) We've included one 'fantasy foto' in Captain's honor. We call it "Captain's Perfect Christmas Gift"

Anyway, here's a few pics of the New Arrival.

These were taken with our daughter's new "JamCam" digital camera. Not a bad 'kids camera'.

" That's MISTER O'Lantern, to YOU, Buddy!" You can tell he is NOT happy in this photo.

As you can see, he's grown into quite a handsome fellow.
Here, he's getting to pounce on his 'brother'.
It must be really difficult to express your feelings with a one-word

vocabulary...

Earlier this year, we acquired yet another kitten. This little fellow is known as Teddy Crookshanks, and at the time, his name was bigger than he was. He's growing into his feet, but I doubt if he'll EVER grow into his ears!

This is Teddy. See Teddy's tail! See Teddy's feet! See Teddy's ears!

Teddy is ALL ears...

It is really difficult to photograph black pets. They just look like

moving shadows.

Here, he's trying desperately to look inteligent...

Angel was the next "feline dog" to come into our lives.  She's a cute one, and ironically the only female in the bunch.  She was SUPPOSED to be male.  It's difficult for non-felines to tell the difference in kittens.  I guess that's OK as long as THEY can tell...
Taffy got his name from his colouring, and he does look a bit like salt-water taffy.  Captain would like to see if he TASTES like it, too, but we won't let him...

Please forgive the forgoing commentary. At the risk of alienating some folks, I must admit that I'm NOT a 'cat person'.
