Changing a Folder or File Name

by Ted Peterson
One of my friends was having trouble changing folder names so I said that I would write this article showing the different ways to change file and folder names.
There are 3 different ways to change the names of folders, files, jpg, etc. When the new person first comes on the computer they will take the long way to change names. First they will load the file, etc so that they will have the article on their computer. At that time save the file, etc with the new name. Then check and make sure that the new file is OK, and then go into "My Computer" and delete the old name. This will take time but will work.
The 2nd way will take time and for the people that cannot use the mouse easy. First they will go to "My Computer" and then accent the file that they would like to change the name. Then they will go to their mouse and click the RIGHT botton. A menu will come up and now click on change name. At that time the name for the file will show a change. Go to the name and change the name to what ever name you would like. Make sure that the last 3 letters after the dot are the same. At this time click somewhere on the screen and the file name will be the new name. DONOT delete any thing.
The last way is fast. Go to "My Computer" click on the file and wait about 1 second and then click again. Now change the name, making sure that you save the letters after the dot. If you click too fast the file will load. You will learn the time needed after a few times.
I hope that this clears up and you will be able to change the names any time you want.
