| To convert nautical miles to land(statute) miles, muliply nautical land miles by 1.15 and you come up with the land miles. To convert land miles to nautical miles multiply land miles by .86957 |

| You may note that metric goes up by a facter of 10. 10 millimeters is 1 centimeter. 10 centimeters is 1 decimeter. 10 decimeters is 1 meter, etc. 1 kllometer is 1,000 meters. |
