INK JET PRINTER CARTRIDGES Refills
One thing you may want to think about when you are ordering an ink jet printer is what it will cost for the ink jet cartridge or the cost per printed page. Cartridges will cost from $14.99 ea to $35.95 ea.
The Epson B/W cartridge for the Epson 800 will print from 900 to 1,600 pages, depending on copy printed on each page.
The H.P and Canon cartridges can be refilled as they do not use vacuum to spread the ink. They use heat so each cartridges can be refill 3-4 times. The ink is cheep. Use a hypo needle.
You CANNOT refill an Epson cartridge. They use an vacuum to spread the ink. If you punch a hole in a cartridge it will not work

TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES
by Terry Priest
What do you do with all those temporary internet files that accumulate on the Hard drive? Ans. DELETE them: They will fill your hard disk before you know it, especially if you are using Internet Explorer. The problem is the "slack" Each little 516 byte occupies a 32 or 64K sector of your HD. Go to the "My Computer" icon and check your free space. Remember it.

EPSON PRINTER NOT WORKING
Some time when you select your Epson ink jet printers to print some thing it will stop and not print any thing. In talking with other Epson printer oweners, they all say that to get the printers to work you can do one of two thing.
The first way is to turn off you printer and then ask your printer to reprint after truning it back on. The 2nd way is, some time, you will back up one step and then go back to the point that you want the printer to print and ask it to reprint. Most of the time it will now work.
.
Netscape 4
Most of the time, if you are using Netscape 4, the first time you use it each day, the program will lock up and will not work.
You then will have to use one of the other call up program to hook up with your service and then load Netscape 4.
From then on, untill you turn your computer off, you can call up Netscape 4 from your desktop. This will happen on most of the computer systems.

FILE TIP
by Terry Priest
Here is a good tip for you. To get to the find menu press the windows key and f. It will pop up Find Files over just about anything. Search for files named cache. Delete the ones under C:\windows\temp... Everything will go except two .DAT files. Before you delete them note the combined size of the folders. Be sure and empty the recycle bin also.
Now check the HD space using "My Computer". You will be shocked. The difference is the "slack". It will not be dramatic if you have Win95 version B which has FAT32 file system but even then there is considerable waste if a really large HD has only one partition. Be sure and run defrag at regular intervals. It (defrag) lies to you. If it is more than 3% fragmented, run it.
Another tip: Press the windows key and e at the same time and you are instantly in Windows Explorer. To get to the device manager without going through start, settings, control panel just press the Windows key and the pause/break key.
.
ZIP-PARALLEL PORT-SCSI
On most PCs, with a CD reader, you cannot use any scsi device if you have the parallel Zip turned on. It will overide the scsi control. The only way around is to turn the Zip off when you want to use the scsi device.
